GENERAL INFORMATION
CORRECTIONAL OFFICER HIRING STATUS — OPEN

The mission of the San Andreas Department of Corrections is to protect the State of San Andreas through the confinement of offenders in controlled environments that are safe, humane, cost-efficient, and appropriately secure, while providing opportunities to assist and aid rehabilitating offenders in becoming law-abiding citizens in their reinduction into society.

  • PREVIOUS CORRECTIONAL EMPLOYEES
Those who were previously employed by the San Andreas Department of Corrections or those who wish to transfer from another prison must submit a reinstatement or transfer application, instead of following the standard recruitment processes.

    POLICE & SHERIFFS TRANSFERS
Those who are currently or were previously employed with the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department or the Los Santos Police Department may submit a transfer application instead of following the standard recruitment process.

(( We allow "OOC" reinstatements on different characters with permission from SADOC High Command, which are roleplayed as transfers from an out-of-state prison; this only applies to previous members of the SADOC faction.

Previous or current members of LSSD/LSPD may submit an OOC transfer on an alternative character from a fictional department, so long as they have permission from SADOC High Command. ))
JOB DESCRIPTION
The San Andreas Department of Corrections offers a wide variety of specializations and secondary divisions to all correctional employees, though the core duties of its employees remain the same, with the only notable difference existing between a full-fledged Correctional Officer (full-time) and a Reserve Correctional Officer (part-time).

  • CORRECTIONAL OFFICER — Correctional Officers are full-time employees of the San Andreas Department of Corrections, and will be responsible for working in the state prison, assisting in the confinement of offenders, and assisting in their rehabilitation process to become law-abiding citizens. Correctional Officers will assist with the intake of arrestees brought in by law enforcement and see them through the processing into state custody, from start to finish.

The base salary of a Correctional Officer starts at $6,000 per hour at the rank of Correctional Trainee, and is paid from the moment you start the academy.

RESERVE CORRECTIONAL OFFICER — Reserve Correctional Officers are Correctional Officers with the same core operational authorities as full-time Correctional Officers, but with a reduced monthly hour requirement. Reserve Correctional Officers may apply to certain divisions, though they are limited and entry is at the discretion of divisional command. Reserve Correctional Officers go through the same probationary and training period as regular Correctional Officers.
    RCO Procedures

Reserve Correctional Officers may apply to the following divisions:
    • Human Resources
    • Correctional Medical Team
    • Groundskeeping
    • Correctional K9 Division
    • Correctional Services (Bailiff duties)
    • Public Relations
    • Felon Reformation Division
Reserve Correctional Officers may apply to be reassigned to a full-time Correctional Officer position at their leisure, whenever they desire to or feel most comfortable.
The base salary of a Reserve Correctional Officer is $5,000 per hour. Reserve Officers may opt to become full-fledged Correctional Officers later in their career, but are not required to and thus may stay part-time.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
The San Andreas Department of Corrections currently employs a three-step employment process, comprised of the application stage, the interview stage, the physical fitness test, and the academy stage.

  • STEP 1 — APPLICATION STAGE
All applicants must complete and submit a written application here. Once an application has been submitted, it will be received and reviewed by the Human Resources Division. A representative will complete a background check, cross-check the answers with our selection criteria, and generally review the submitted answers and information.

    STEP 2 — INTERVIEW STAGE
Applicants who pass the initial application stage progress to the interview stage, the second step of the Department's recruitment process. To conduct an entry interview, applicants will come to Bolingbroke Penitentiary, the state prison, to meet with a Human Resources representative, who will interview them.

Applicants are expected to dress appropriately for a formal job interview and be adequately prepared for their interview. They are also advised to bring a spare set of clothes to wear while performing their physical fitness test.

STEP 3 — PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST
Applicants who pass their interview progress to the third stage of the process, which is the physical fitness test. The Human Resources representative will take the applicant to the Department's training course, where they will be tested to ensure they are physically fit for duty. Once more, applicants are advised to bring a set of comfortable clothing that does not impede their ability to complete physical activities.

(( The physical fitness phase is a roleplay test, designed to test the roleplay abilities and understanding of applicants, and to ensure that they grasp how to properly use /me and /do. ))

    STEP 4 — ACADEMY STAGE
Applicants accepted and selected for the San Andreas Department of Corrections will be entered into the Department's academy, where they will go through demanding training and be taught all the Department's procedures, and given a tour of the Department's facilities. Academies are estimated to take roughly two hours, so applicants are asked to be adequately prepared and to set aside a few hours of their day.
(( OOC CORRUPTION ))
Faction members of the San Andreas Department of Corrections are able to apply for out-of-character corruption, which allows them to be given permission to roleplay a corrupt guard, opening up a lot of possible avenues of roleplay that were previously unavailable to them.

Corruption roleplay may only be carried out when a faction member has been given explicit permission to do so by the Warden (faction leader). Faction members who engage in corruption roleplay or conduct criminal activity on- or off duty without the Warden's permission to do so will be removed from the faction, irrespective of whether they were caught IC or OOC.
