LSPD Awards for Bravery

Chief's Distinguished Skill and Service Medal

The Chief's Distinguished Skill and Service Medal is the highest form of honor and recognition that can be bestowed upon an Officer of the Los Santos Police Department. Awarded only by the Chief of Police, this award is bestowed upon Officers who were deemed to have demonstrated extraordinary bravery or heroism in the field, or extraordinary skill in individual acts.

Staff Officer Recognition and Excellence Medal

The Staff Officer Recognition and Excellence Medal is a high form of honor and recognition that can be bestowed upon Officers of the Los Santos Police Department when the excellence of their duties, completion of their tasks, or general efforts are recognized by Staff Officers.

Medal of Valor

The Los Santos Police Department's Medal of Valor is the highest law enforcement medal awarded to officers by the Los Santos Police Department. The Medal of Valor is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for individual acts of extraordinary bravery or heroism performed in the line of duty at extreme and life-threatening personal risk.

Preservation of Life Medal

The Preservation of Life Medal may be awarded to an officer who has distinguished himself or herself by employing exceptional tactics and exercising sound judgment, beyond the normal demands of duty, to preserve the life of another during a volatile or dangerous encounter while protecting the safety and security of the public and his or her fellow officers.

Liberty Award

The Liberty Award is presented and awarded to officers who exemplify the highest standards of ethical policing, and demonstrate unwavering integrity, moral courage, and accountability, and recognizes those who uphold the rule of law with fairness, impartiality, and commitment to ethical conduct.

Police Medal

The Police Medal is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for individual acts of heroism in the line of duty, though not above and beyond the call of duty, as is required for the Medal of Valor.

Police Star

The Police Star is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for performing with exceptional judgment and/or utilizing skillful tactics in order to defuse dangerous and stressful situations.

Police Life Saving Medal

The Police Life Saving Medal is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for taking action in order to rescue or attempt the rescue of either a fellow officer or any person from imminent danger.

Chief's Unit Citation

The Chief's Unit Citation is the Department's highest unit award and may be awarded to an organizational unit of the Department for bravery or outstanding service by its members functioning as a team by the Chief of Police.

Police Meritorious Unit Citation

The Police Meritorious Unit Citation may be awarded to an organizational unit of the Department for bravery or outstanding service by its members functioning as a team, but to a lesser degree than required for the Chief's Unit Citation.

2022 Operation Blackout Ribbon

Given to any LSPD officer who was present and involved in the law enforcement response to the terrorist attack on the Palmer Taylor power plant, resulting in a large-scale state-wide blackout.

2024 Operation Vigil Ribbon

Given to any LSPD officer who partook in Operation Vigil, an impromptu response to a large-scale threat to the government, and a subsequent operation to locate and determine the safety of specific individuals across the State, as directed by the Chief of Police.

2024 Guardian's Aim Ribbon

Given to any LSPD officer who was present and involved in a large-scale threat to the government and its judicial branch, with heavily armored and armed hostiles at City Hall targeting a prosecuting attorney, and brought the situation to a conclusion.

2024 Operation Kutte Throat Ribbon

Given to any LSPD officer who partook in Operation Kutte Throat, a response to a large-scale threat to the government and law enforcement within the State of San Andreas, defending the State and its law enforcement agencies from a coordinated assault by three separate criminal organizations.

2025 Operation Neon Trap Ribbon

Given to any LSPD officer who partook in a high-risk, high-intensity incident, later dubbed "Operation Neon Trap", where a cross-departmental response was initiated following an ambush against law enforcement inside the Colorful Parking complex.

LSPD Awards for Service

Command Distinguished Service Award

The Los Santos Police Command Distinguished Service Medal is bestowed upon command team members for continual determination and success after serving in the command team for a prolonged period of time.

Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Medal is bestowed upon Officers who distinguish themselves by exceptionally meritorious service to the City of Los Santos in a duty of great responsibility. To justify this decoration, exceptional performance of duty must be clearly above what is normally expected and contributes to the success of a major command or project.

Meritorious Service Award

The Meritorious Service Medal is bestowed upon Officers who have performed noteworthy service in any capacity with the Los Santos Police Department. Qualifying service for the award of the medal can be for distinctive meritorious achievement and service, acts of courage involving no voluntary risk of life, or sustained meritorious performance of duty.

Meritorious Leadership

The Meritorious Leadership Medal is bestowed upon Officers who have performed noteworthy service in any capacity with the Los Santos Police Department in the leadership of other Los Santos Police Officers. Meritorious service or achievement in either dangerous & stressful field situations or administrative non-field situations based on sustained performance or specific achievement of a superlative nature.

Community Policing Award

The Community Policing Medal is bestowed upon Officers who continuously show "honorable and faithful service" to the City of Los Santos. Such service implies the officer distinguishes himself/herself from among his/her fellow officers by their exemplary conduct, efficiency, and fidelity.

Public Service Award

The Los Santos Police Public Service Medal is bestowed upon Officers that perform a great public service.

Purple Heart

The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the department who are significantly injured or killed on duty.

Officer of the Month

The Officer of the Month Award is bestowed upon an exemplary Officer selected by the Police Supervisors and Command Staff of the Los Santos Police Department each month.

Supervisor of the Month

The Supervisor of the Month Award is bestowed upon an exemplary Supervisor selected by the Police Officers and Command Staff of the Los Santos Police Department periodically.

Staff Officer Ribbon

Awarded to those who have become a Staff Officer in the Los Santos Police Department.

Command Officer Ribbon

Awarded to those who have become a Command Officer in the Los Santos Police Department.

Supervisor Ribbon

Awarded to those who have become a member of the Supervisory Staff after having successfully passed their Sergeant Training Program.

Detective Ribbon

Awarded to those who have become a member of the Detective Team after having successfully passed their Detective Training Program.

Civilian Employee Ribbon

Awarded to those who have become a Civilian Employee with the Los Santos Police Department.

Completion of Field Training Award

This ribbon is handed out to those who have successfully passed their Field Training Program and have been inducted as a Police Officer.

Field Training Officer Ribbon

Awarded to those who have served as a Field Training Officer and conducted a total of 20 field training sessions.

Exemplerary Field Training Officer Commendation Award

Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with the Field Training Program, consistently keeping up with offcers who require their training and doing so at a very high standard.

Administration Commendation Award

Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with administrative work in the Department, either with optional paperwork or divisional paperwork.

Awarded to those who have served as a member of the Internal Affairs Division for a total of 2 months.

Exemplary Media Relations Commendation Award

Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with the Media Relations Division, helping organize events and consistently assisting with any of the roles required within the division.

Media Relations Ribbon

Awarded to those who have served as a Media Relations Officer within the Media Relations Division's Media Relations Section for a total of 3 months.

Media Relations Veteran Ribbon

Awarded to those who have served as a Media Relations Officer within the Media Relations Division's Media Relations Section for a total of 6 months, during which the Officer has shown a consistent effort made to the section.

Awarded to those who have served as a member of a General Operations Patrol Division for a total of 3 months.

Meritorious Patrol Officer Award

Awarded to those who have served as a member of a General Operations Bureau Patrol Division for a total of 6 months, during which the Officer has shown a consistent effort made to their duties as a patrol officer.

Distinguished Patrol Officer Award

Awarded to those who have shown continuous commitment to a General Operations Bureau Patrol Division over prolonged periods of time, during which the Officer has shown great effort towards the division.

Detective Recognition Award

Awarded to those who show exemplary conduct whilst performing divisional duties for the Investigations Bureau.

Awarded to Officers who have shown commitment to their duties and the public, and have received 20 commendations from the general public, reviewed at the discretion of Internal Affairs and the Office of the Chief of Police.

Honorary Retirement Award

Awarded to Officers who have retired from the Los Santos Police Department but have, during their career, contributed to the Department through notable or excellent service, whether through divisional or general duties.

Urban Police Rifle Cadre Ribbon

Awarded to any LSPD officer who is qualified to use an Urban Police Rifle (typically, an M4 Carbine Rifle) through the certification and training program of the Training Division.

Submachine Gun Cadre Ribbon

Awarded to any LSPD officer who is qualified to use an MP5 submachine gun through the certification and training program of the Training Division.

Shotgun Cadre Ribbon

Awarded to any LSPD officer who is qualified to use a Remington 870P shotgun through the certification and training program of the Training Division.

The Chief's Grace is the highest possible honor a member of the LSEMS can achieve. The Chief's Grace is awarded by the Chief of EMS to members of the LSEMS who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor.

Awarded by the head of Basic Life Support to those instructors who have gone above and beyond their duties to better the division in all aspects.

Given to great Firefighter Instructors within the Fire & Rescue division.

Given out to Firefighters who have shown great skill in the field while handling fire & fire hazards, within the Fire & Rescue division

Handle a call with an enormous amount of dangerous substances & cooking stations as a Firefighter within the Fire & Rescue division.

Firefighter Ribbon

Given out to freshly certified Firefighters who have fully completed firefighter training within the Fire & Rescue division.
