Traits & Motivations
Please provide a short biography about yourself (minimum 100 words):
My name is Austin Hartwell and I'll be 28 years old by September. I grew up in Del Perro in the beautiful city of Los Santos. Del Perro treated me well, I had many friends and family to guide me on my path to success. My favorite hobby is most definitely basketball, I hope to one day create a basketball team to represent Los Santos for both men and women. In my spear time I'm usually helping my brother construct his gym which he hopes to open in the ghetto area of Los Santos. I suggested him to do so as it will bring more life and community to the area. One of my many long term goals is to brighten up the shadier parts of the city and this gym will do just that!
I will put my full heart and soul into the job. I hope to speed through my training if accepted and become a respectable guard within the DOC. I will most likely spend on duty 10-15 hours every week and use the rest of my time to constructing a gym outside of work.
I would like to join the department as I believe I would make a great change in the inmates lives. I spent my whole life having everything handed to me, food, roof over my head, a lock on my door, clean water whenever I need it. With everything I have been blessed with, I feel its only right to give back to the community and to those less fortunate. Working in a correctional facility will bring me great pride and joy and give me a sense of worth and belonging. Through my years of education at the ULSA in Richman, I have always had a greed for challenges and I'm aware being a correctional officer is no easy task. My professors always told me I had a gift to take on challenges, working with people and just making the world a better place. So, I can't let this gift go to waste.
I handle pressure very well. Pressure almost boosts my performance, gives me an adrenaline rush that keeps me focused. At my previous university, I was put under a lot of stress and had to learn to adapt around it and use it to my advantage.
Determination. I am determined to finish a task no matter how hard it is, I am self assured and happy with my performance so I will never feel embarrassed to ask for help if needed. No matter how much over time I have to put in, if its helping an inmate, I will happily work through the night. A second strength of mine is my fairness. I am easy to reason with and will take multiple factors into account, I don't 'jump the gun' and will definitely make sure all inmates are treated with reason. Lastly, I have a low temper. I'm not easily aggravated and don't turn to aggression unless absolutely necessary.

N/A
Yes. During my short time in the army before I left for university, I had picked up multiple team skills as well as leadership. Working as a team and being cohesive with each other. Communication was also a huge factor, being able to talk calmly through radio transmissions during active shots.
