Weazel News recently witnessed a gang shootout that left officers down and a gang member killed on Las Lagunas Blvd. and Hawick Ave. I spoke to Church about it on the scene and wasn't able to get any more information out of him about it. I genuinely think our readers would be interested in this and with pictures I got on the scene it would make for a great story.

  The incident that took place on the 8th of May in the early afternoon on the corner of Hawick Avenue and Las Lagunas Boulevard was an Officer-involved shooting. Two Officers that were conducting a traffic stop were shot upon by three of four individuals that were inside of the vehicle during the traffic stop. An all units required call was made by the Officers on the scene and a heavy response ensued. During the dangerous exchange of fire two Officers were shot and wounded - receiving superficial, less than lethal wounds.
  
  Two of three suspects that initially opened fire on Officers were shot and injured, one was detained and one suspect fled in an unknown direction while the two Officers were incapacitated and additional units were arriving. The two wounded Officers have successfully recovered while the incident is still being looked into as a gang-involved shooting. Officers made no statements on the matter at the time as they were unable to and in effect.
  
  I hope that this is the information you were interested in obtaining. I would formally like to apologize for the delayed response as this particular incident was run through the Detective Bureau to ensure an active investigation, should there be any, was not interrupted or obstructed by this information which relates to, as previously mentioned, a gang-related shooting.
