Please provide a short biography about yourself (minimum 100 words):
My name is Bill Sweeney, I grew up in the east end of London - in the UK I was involved in petty crime from a young age and found myself caught up in the judicial system. I reformed when reaching adulthood and began to take interest in forwarding my career. I started up a small business selling air weapons in the UK before deciding the market would be larger over in the US. I moved to Los Santos in 2020 and joined LSEMS as a trainee paramedic but unfortunately it wasn't for me and I never made it past training. I then got into the Security business with JPS Security and worked my way up to supervisor where I would oversee a number of security guards. During this time I did go off the rails for a short period and may have committed some misdemeanours whilst intoxicated due to an alcohol addiction I developed, however I have been fully rehabilitated and my life has improved tenfold. I now look to enter a career in government to provide me with a stable income and trustworthy repute.
I would expect to spend around 80% of my time working, as it is a career I anticipate that I will enjoy thoroughly and ofcourse this comes with financial incentive.
I would like to join SADOC because I believe it would be an extremely rewarding role. Not only are you protecting the law-abiding citizens of San Andreas; but you are engaging with and rehabilitating offenders. You have the potential in SADOC to change someone's life for the better. I have experienced this myself having spent some time in a DOC facility and engaging with guards who encouraged positive behaviour and ensured I was safe at all times. I believe my experience in a DOC facility gives me an advantage over other applicants because I have been through and seen the process first-hand. Upon my release I spent alot of time at the desk speaking with an officer about the role and this peaked my interest, he gave me a pamphlet on how to prepare for DOC/Police roles and I have re-read these over and over. I believe I am ready for the role and will be fully committed to my career, colleagues and will be happy to heed management at all times.
I try to remain calm in stressful/pressurizing situations as it allows you to think. If you allow yourself to collapse under pressure then your decision making skills are extremely inhibited. I pride myself in my ability to remain calm, make fast and correct decisions when dealing with a dynamic variety of incidents. I have experience of this when working in security.
I have had previous LSEMS training, so I am first aid trained in that respect - however not BLS certified. I held an SIA security license and a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu aswell as in the UK before moving to the USA which would certainly prove an asset to the DOC as Jiu Jitsu is a very defensive fighting style and teaches you many types of restraint - aswell as disarming. The SIA license I held shows I was certified and trained as Security in the UK which is somewhat relevant to the role of a correctional officer (in some respects). I have an active firearms license which of course would assist me if a firearm is required in my role.

The use of /me is to describe your character's actions. An example of this (specifically in corrections) would be the following: /me searches the locker for John's property for his release and locates his clothing and mobile phone.
The use of /do is to describe the outcome of a /me or simply an event happening in the environment. An example of this is that a detainee is being processed and is being searched as part of this process. When the corrections officer does '/me attempts to frisk the individual, does he succeed?' The detainee may respond with '/do Yes, he succeeds in doing so - there is a noticeable lump in the sleeve of the jacket.'
