Discontinuation of CRU Services
December 20th, 2025
Los Santos Emergency Medical Services has made the difficult decision to discontinue Crisis Response Unit (CRU) services, effective immediately.
Over the years, our department has been trusted by the people of Los Santos to show up during some of their most difficult moments, and that trust is something we take seriously. As the needs of the city and the demands placed on emergency services continue to evolve, LSEMS must remain focused on maintaining consistent emergency medical coverage, even when doing so requires hard choices about how personnel and resources are best utilized.
CRU was created with compassion at its center, and those who served within the unit carried that responsibility with professionalism, care, and dedication. This decision is not a reflection of their work or their commitment. It is the result of changing operational realities and the responsibility we hold to ensure emergency medical care is available when it is needed most.
While CRU services will no longer be offered, LSEMS remains committed to the wellbeing of the community. Individuals currently receiving CRU support will be contacted once appropriate alternative resources within the city are identified, and referrals will be provided to help ensure continuity of care.
We appreciate the understanding of those who served in CRU and of the community members who were supported through its services. If there are any questions or concerns from those within the community, or those who are currently considered existing patients of CRU, we ask you please reach out to a member of LSEMS High Command.
