Roleplay Feedback

1. What's your player name? Samuel Wheeler
2. Do you know any names of LSSD members involved in your situation? Negative
3. When did this situation occur? 25/MAY/2025 - 19:30 UTC

4. Can you list down at least three good or bad things from our side in this situation?
  1. Being fast to catch people who have committed criminal acts.
  2. Baiting someone into an arrest, by telling them to do something and then afterwards using words such as "I thought so" to bait a reaction that warrants an arrest.
  3. Not allowing even 10 seconds with the suspect for them to finish a rather large scaled planned situation in which their boyfriend was going to propose.
5. Can you list down at least three good or bad things from your side in this situation?
  1. Not all of us acting physically violent towards the officers.
  2. We should have also remained more professional and respectful towards the officer, we attempted to at the start of the interaction however it turned aggressive fast.
  3. Trying to solve the situation ICly by kindly asking as well as trying to speak to the highest on scene regarding the situation.
6. Can you provide an accurate description of the events that unfolded? (add any footage you may have to back any claims up)
Our members had a planned event. We had members set up for a proposal in which one of our members we going to propose to their girl friend. We had setup inside of pink cage and was ready for them to arrive. They sadly had to evade a situation from police, but we told them to come to pinkcage regardless so they could quickly be asked the question before getting arrested. This however did not go very well, police refused to allow even a second of interaction between the two. Even after they were cuffed, even after they had been searched. They treated the individual like they were armed to the teeth, however all they had was a knife. They took the person into the cruiser and took them away without giving any chance for the RP to happen between the couple. Additionally, later on one of our members were asked to step away from the scene. They got given a 5s countdown or else they would to be arrested. They stepped away at around the 3s mark, in which the officer responded with "Thats what i thought" basically baiting a reaction to attempt to get the person arrested regardless.

POV:

7. What would you have done differently from both the perspective of SD and your own?
From our point of view, we should have remained more professional throughout the entire situation. We attempted to get the officers to allow the couple even 5 or 10 seconds just so they got get asked the question about "Will you marry me?". However when they refused to listen and denied this, even tho it would have wasted no ones time, and made everybody happier we all got rather mad.

From SDs point of view, i would have simply detained the person, searched them and then allowed them 30 seconds to get asked the question. It hurts nobody, and it would only foster a way better RP environment for everybody involved. But instead of this, they decided to point guns at the person and start tazing and arresting others for being too close.

8. What are you hoping to accomplish by sending this feedback to us?
Hopefully for SD to attempt to create better RP by allowing a more wider variety of situations. Instead of simply having what could be easily described as a "win" mentality. They do not need at all times to simply arrest the individual and get them into the cruiser with as much force as possible. Especially not in a situation where there is a clear planned RP going on, and those 30 seconds they could have given would have increased the RP enjoyment and quality of the entire situation tenfold.

"A TRADITION OF SERVICE"

  • Re: [ROLEPLAY FEEDBACK] Pink Cage Proposal - 25/MAY/2025

First off, I'd like to thank you on behalf of the Sheriff's Department for submitting this roleplay feedback. Oftentimes, members of the community let their frustrations with law enforcement factions build up instead of addressing them through the channels provided.

I do not expect you to find the following reply satisfactory, but we appreciate your feedback nonetheless.

You seem to have a deep misunderstanding of the LSSD faction. We pride ourselves on our roleplay standards and on offering interactive and engaging roleplay for the criminals and civilians we interact with in the server. That said, it seems your expectations for our roleplay standards are far different from what they are in actuality.

As a law enforcement faction, we expect our members to accurately portray the character, actions, personality, and reactions of real Sheriff's Deputies. This allows us to provide a realistic and predictable face to the server so that the community that we serve in character can engage in realistic law-enforcement roleplay along with us while also allowing our roleplay to be dynamic and malleable. Several comments that you make in your feedback seem to miss the mark on this.

Firstly, Camila_Navarro was pulled over by our faction for speeding. Even though you state that Camila knew she had somewhere important to be for roleplay, Camila decided to evade from this traffic stop, opening her up to a criminal pursuit which she knew would very likely eventually result in her arrest. This was her choice, not ours. The LSSD is a faction of reactions to criminal behavior. Had Camila not evaded from this traffic stop, she would have been able to proceed to your roleplay event without issue.

Secondly, upon arriving to Pink Cage, our deputies and faction members saw a large gathering of gang members which Camila immediately tried to use as cover for her evasion. It would be far, far outside of our faction roleplay expectations for our deputies to simply drop the chase because of this. They had no idea what was happening, and were in fear for their own safety in-character.

Next, Camila takes out a knife and attempts to stab Deputy Alester_Carter. Here, I will admit that the faction did not roleplay according to our standards. Camila_Navarro should have been immediately shot by all armed deputies on scene with an appropriate line of fire. You may not know much about the damages that knives can inflict on officers even wearing kevlar, but I guarantee you that any real law enforcement officer would not be willing to "play nice" with Camila after this. She committed Assault with a Deadly Weapon of a Government Employee, but was not even charged with this. She did not "only have a knife", she had a knife that she swung at an officer, and could have easily killed the officer or led to permanent injury.

So, after all this is done, you still have an issue with the fact that the deputies involved did not return Camila to the group to receive her proposal. Quite frankly, this is absurd. The deputies know you all as gang members and would be far outside of our roleplay standards to return her to your group without any knowledge of what they were making themselves vulnerable to. You may say in-charcter that it is just a proposal, but Camila had just tried to stab an officer, and you are all notable gang members. The deputies have no idea what you could be planning, and to make themselves vulnerable in this regard would be below our expectations.

After this, you bring to issue the deputy who gave a 5-second countdown to step back. At this point, now multiple members of your group had been assaulting deputies. Any issues with what the deputy said afterward are entirely IC, but with how antagonistic your group had been to the deputies up until this point, it's hard to see his comments as unreasonable.

All in all, RP from the LSSD is:
    • Meant to be realistic and predictable.
    • Meant to portray real law enforcement officers.
    • A reaction to criminal activity.
    It is not:
    • Giving unrealistic consideration to gang members.
    • Meant to be in service to your vision of an RP scenario.
    • Meant to target and ruin your RP just for the fun of it.
In the future, I recommend that:
    • Members of your group do not willfully engage in lengthy engagements with law enforcement prior to pre-planned events
    • You do not continue to escalate a situation which you clearly would benefit from de-escalating
    • Find other ways to continue your RP without directly antagonizing law enforcement (such as continuing with the proposal despite the disapproval of law enforcement, something that we think could have been the best way to take advantage of the situation).
As we have laid out, your faction members very easily could have had more severe consequences for their IC actions, but they didn't. Camila wasn't shot for trying to stab a deputy, she wasn't charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon of a gov, and generally deputies could have gone a lot more strict on the incident.

We fail to see why you could not develop your roleplay around SD's presence. Not every roleplay scenario will go exactly how you planned, especially not those where participating members have involved themselves with law enforcement directly before. It is best to develop this roleplay with the new circumstances. Perhaps instead of being endlessly combative with SD members, you could have proceeded with the proposal despite our disapproval, something that wasn't even attempted.

I hope this has been clear, and once again appreciate your roleplay feedback. If you still feel we did something wrong, I encourage you to reach out to the Legal Faction Management team to address these concerns.

    Thanks,
