- 2.1) Employment History
- J.D Employment History
Served as a volunteer for the annual law review of my law school, and after graduating I worked as a clerk for the appellate court.
LL.M Employment History
During this period of time, as I was in a foreign country, I was not able to practice law and neither become a judge (given that I had no citizenship in Spain). Due to that, I worked as a clerk during the whole duration of my masters for teachers that happened to have jobs in the judicial branch of Barcelona.
S.J.D Employment History
During my doctorate I was allowed to teach classes in the same university where I was studying to J.D students and some LL.M classes related to my thesis as well.
Upon graduation, I moved back to my home country (Colombia) where I managed to land a job as a Professional in the Constitutional Court and later on I was given the chance to work as a Judge/Magistrate until I eventually moved back to San Andreas.

- 3.1) Why are you seeking employment with the San Andreas Judicial Branch? (200 word minimum.):
- I am looking to work with the San Andreas Judicial Branch given that I am a phd in Constitutional Law. Given that I have plenty of studies in law, and that I have very recently moved yet again to this country, I deeply believe that it is just right for me to continue working within the Judiciary as I have all of my life.
While I do understand that to get back into my previous field of expertise that was judgeship I have to go through bar certification in this country and many other trainings and tasks, I believe that these will not be an obstacle in me trying to reach my main goal within the Judicial Branch which is to eventually become a Judge of San Andreas and in the very long term, to be nominated as an Associate Justice.
I also seek employment in the Judicial Branch because I believe there is a huge unbalance when it comes to policing and overall the opportunities that citizens have to defend themselves. While I have great admiration for our law enforcers, it is also true that a State that pretends to be somewhat functional must have checks and balances and I believe that I can contribute to that dynamic of checks and balances from the Judicial Branch, by giving citizens the necessary means to defend themselves upon police misconduct.

- 3.2) Please provide a short biography about yourself that highlights why you should be selected from other candidates. (150 word minimum.):
- Antonio (Tony) José McFornell was born in Cartagena, Colombia and was adopted by John McFornell Sr his wife María McFornell in 1992 when he was 16 years of age. Tony gained citizenship by being adopted and lived in San Andreas for 15 years where he graduated high school and finished law school. He wasn't the biggest achiever during law school, but upon starting various Masters degree and finally pursuing his phd in Spain, he received scholarships and a few awards for his research in Constitutional Law.
Tony grew up in a relatively modest family that had the means to pay for his education, and studying abroad seemed like the perfect option for him.
Besides from his academic prowess during his later years, he would spend his time learning how to play the piano and later on he would play for free at bars during the weekends where he wasn't busy doing research.
His main highlight is that he has always been an advocate for human rights and he believes that everyone -even the meanest of the criminals- deserves to have their right to a due process (among their many other rights) respected.

- 3.3) What would you say is the most valuable trait that you possess, and how that could benefit the branch? (75 word minimum.):
- My most valuable trait as a judicial operator is that I am knowledgeable in human rights theory and I am an advocate for upholding and respecting said rights in practice. This means that every single case that I have the opportunity to impact whether as a judge or as an attorney will necessarily be subject to not only our penal code but also doctrinal elements that allow for a better understanding and upholding of the rights of our citizens against violations or misconducts from public servants or their civil counterparts, if any.
