During my time at Kilby Correctional Facility in Alabama, I thrived in my leadership position within the Correctional Medical Team. I was responsible for several improvements and changes that further enhanced our efficiency and the level of care that we were able to give the inmates. I paid attention to the multiple needs of prisoners across the system. It was not always just mental illnesses, or full injuries from brawls that needed addressing. I also introduced a preventative medicine program to try and keep the inmates healthy before any problems arose.
I also ensured that all of my administrative tasks were up to date and filed with accuracy. I try to always maintain a proactive approach to all work that I am assigned, and the work that I look to improve upon on my own volition.
Outside of both the CMT & Administrative duties I was an active member of the Correctional Emergency Response Team. In this position I lead various basic and situational training sessions to help equip all of my team members with the skills they needed to handle emergencies no matter how challenging they may be.

During my employment at Kilby, I was an integral part of the supervisor team. I put in the work, have immense dedication, and a strong work ethic. I believe I can bring my skills and efficiently transfer my experience to the SADOC. I am willing to learn the processes and procedures that the SADOC follow, and apply my current knowledge to continue training those coming into the workforce.
