• 3.1) Why are you seeking employment with the San Andreas Judicial Branch? (200 word minimum)
  • I have shot, stabbed, blown up, and lost people overseas all for the sake of Freedom. I come home, find out my wife is cheating on me, and decide to pack it up and move on to greener pastures. I arrive in San Andreas, and specifically Los Santos, and I find very striking similarities to the places I was blowin' up and spreading the good name of democracy in overseas.
    
    I'd like to help in a more constructive way this time instead of a destructive way. It will help me calm myself down after the horrors I've seen, and it will show me that there can exist protection without violence. After what I've striven so hard for, sacrificed so much for, I cannot enter another war zone, nor can I return fully to standing on the sidelines. I need to be actively trying to help our brothers and sisters fight their battles and make sure they remain free from injustice. It's high time I stuck up for someone in a way that they're going to be able to immediately appreciate and I won't be labelled as a murderer on the news at night.
    
    This is why I want to join the Judicial Branch and become a Lawyer. I see the same injustices going on at home, when I thought I was supposed to be fixin' em overseas.

  • My name is Lawrence Michaels, I'm 40 years old.
    
    I was born in Fort Benning, Georgia. My father was a Captain in the Army. He was not home very often, and when he was, he preached a no-nonsense suck it up style of parenting.
    
    Despite that, I remember watching on TV about all the wars that were happenin' on the television we had, It was pretty much all that was allowed on. Cartoons and sitcoms were considered brain rotting garbage that would turn me soft. I remember September 11th. I was 17... That next year I joined the Marine Corps.
    
    Why the Marine Corps? In part, to get away from my father. I didn't want him controlling my life so directly anymore. I also didn't want to get shit from his troops for simply being his son. Knowing him, He'd have kicked my ass for not defending myself properly against 3 or more guys wearing E4 Patches.
    
    I distanced myself from him, and I built character in the Marine Corps, training as an 0311, Infantry Rifleman.
    
    I was good enough to fly low under my Drill Instructors Radar, but not so good that I pissed off the others. I built friends in Basic, and shared memories. Some folks were from good backgrounds, doing the same as I was, fightin' for their country, Others had no other choice and had to serve to make ends meet. Then you had those who were in it solely to kill.
    
    The Marines were different immediately after 9/11, They wanted everyone and anyone. I thought the goal was to do justice for what they did to us, but I know now it was simply to get back at em and take all their shit, show em what real terror was.
    
    I'm not saying that the USMC are terrorists, but what I am saying is that my mission wasn't what the Marines were interested in.
    
    I was on a deployment in the middle of Afghanistan, and I saw a small child carrying a package across the road, and leave it there. Shortly after, I see the kid run back out, and grab the package. The concept of Rules of Engagement was fast and loose during this period.. The whole concept of War Crimes wasn't something the brass were all too concerned with. I was told "If it's suspicious, shoot it".
    
    Have you ever seen an IED? Until that point, I had seen several, and each one of them was similar, Small unassuming box with a remote detonator.
    
    By all means, I should have shot that box and the child. But something told me not to, Something told me that would be a mistake.
    
    I hold my fire against my Squad leaders orders, and the kid unwraps a small cake, and I can hear from the distance the kids excitement as he calls out to his grandfather over that same phone he's got in his hand.
    
    I get NJP'ed (Non-Judicial Punished) by my Sergeant, and I get moved squads.
    
    I learn real quick that I need to stop putting myself in the position that I get into something like that, I start trying harder to move up and become the voice of reason in the squad, and I eventually get promoted, First to Pfc (Private First Class), then to LCpl (Lance Corporal)
    
    I start being afforded the chance to discern whether something is a threat or not, and I hold that to heart, I make sure my gut is consulted first and foremost, as I did on that day.
    
    I have a spine, and I won't hide at the expense of being in trouble at the expense of other peoples lives and livelihoods.

    I served in the Military for 12 years, In my first 2, I was punished for doing the right thing. I did not attempt to hide away from the punishment, nor did I blame anybody. I did what was right, and to be recognized that I didn't follow an incorrect order will forever be a badge of honor to me. I'm also not one to lie..

    1 Fear RP Punishment. I didn't notice the guy typing and decided to run off and pull my gun.
    1 DM Spoken to. I was trying to assist someone I was going to do business with by defending him from someone who was being a dickhead to him.
    1 DM Punishment : Player had a gun out after a 911 call stated they were just robbed. I shot them.
