Civilians who uncover illegal items and contraband in a house acquired through the foreclosure auctions, or any house or property purchase for that matter, should leave the items and contraband where they found them and place a 911 call, requesting for an officer to assist with the removal of these items.
If possible, it is best not to touch or move these items until law enforcement is present to avoid potential evidence contamination, which would have the potential to hinder further investigations connected to these items, if investigators were to deem that a necessary course of action.
The utmost priority, however, is to simply call 911 and request an officer to assist with the removal of these items from the property, which guarantees the safety of the individual who has acquired the property and clears up any potential questions that may arise.
