  • I would like to preface this by stating that this is submitted solely on my own accord and this is not on behalf of the LSSD.
    
    After reading through the recent press release of the two officers who were charged and terminated due to severe misconduct inside of the jail cells, I would like to ask what measures will be taken to prevent incidents like that from occurring again.
    
    I have attached the link to the Press Release for reference.
    
    1. Will cameras be installed in the jail cells to counteract body-cameras from being turned off? (If there aren’t any installed already)
    2. Will there be stricter rules regarding the force matrix?
    Once again, this is on behalf of purely myself and NOT the LSSD.

  Thank you for your inquiry.
  
  Cameras have been present in the holding cell area since long before this incident occurred. The use of force policy and force matrix is not relevant to this incident and I fail to see the correlation between the actions of an off-duty officer committing a criminal offense and the use of force policy that is in place for on-duty officers.
