  2.5 Details of planned event (Please provide a map with planned road closures, if they are required, an example can be seen here):
  • Simply put, we will be getting a construction team from within GOV to place down barriers and bleachers, along with a few tents to create a drag strip on the Sandy Shores Airfield ((Mapping)). We will not require any road closures as the event is strictly on the airfield. The event will consist of multiple individuals performing a drag race with their vehicles down the strip. There are barriers at the end of the strip that prevents involved individuals from going into the road. This will be our 3rd Annual 'run' of this event so we will be prepared to run it as we have in the past. We are requiring participants to have valid driver's licenses, or whatever license lines up with the vehicle they plan to use. SAAA has been informed, specifically Tyrone Cox and has given the go-ahead for the use of the airstrip.
