• 3.1) Why are you seeking employment with the San Andreas Judicial Branch? (200 word minimum.):
  • To keep it simple, I believe that everyone should have the right to a fair trial. Being a lawyer and helping people with their cases has been a dream of mine since I was a child. I’ve had my run-ins with the law and can see why people might want to take their cases to court or might disagree with the charge the officers gave them.
    After leaving my country and coming to America I have taken a great interest in the law here considering the new and different rules. I’ve also read some old cases like the one where the taco truck owner supposedly was selling human meat to his customers. The charges were dropped considering there was no body camera footage of the detaining officer and the defense believed that the pieces of evidence were not obtained lawfully or under any means of reasonable suspicion.
    Ever since then I’ve been working and reading to acquire the experience needed to apply for the position.
    I believe the best place for me to advance my career is here. I want to be part of the system where I can continue to improve and expand my skill set and knowledge of the law.

  • I’m Shaun Harper, I grew up in the Netherlands and was always fascinated with the law. As I grew older I steered off in a different direction and discovered my passion for computers but have since regretted not getting into law. After coming to America I decided then and there I would try my hardest to become a lawyer.
    A little bit more about my past, back in my hometown I liked to party a bit much and got in trouble with the police, nothing too serious but from those times I picked up a lot about the law. Other than that, nothing too much to say, graduated from school and after a couple years left the country to pursue my passion here.
    After a few encounters with the police and hearing from my friends how they got treated by them, it finally gave me enough courage to write this. I want to help people, people who might not have much money, people who were falsely fined or imprisoned. I just really want to help people in regards to the law.

• 3.3) What would you say is the most valuable trait that you possess, and how that could benefit the branch? (75 word minimum.):
  • My most valuable trait would be my communication skills.
    As a lawyer you need to be orally articulate, a great listener and have good writing skills. If you want to argue convincingly in the courtroom before the judges and juries, communication skills are a must have.
    Not only that but to in order to analyze what clients tell me and to follow a complex witness testimony a lawyer must have good listening skills.

  • It depends per week but it would hover around the 20 hour mark.

  • I've been on the lookout for a position as a lawyer and found it on the government website.
