In the State of San Andreas, you must have a valid Bar License to practice law - this can include, but is not limited to, giving legal advice, representing clients, and filing lawsuits on behalf of another person. The only exception to this is if a defendant chooses to self-represent in their own criminal trial.

Those found to be practicing law without a valid Bar License issued by the San Andreas Bar Association will be subject to fines and potential criminal prosecution as outlined by the Bar Ethics Review Board, the Business Licensing Bureau, and the State of San Andreas Penal Code.

The Bar Examination itself is a 50 question multiple choice test that will assess one's knowledge of the penal code, courtroom procedures, and other various aspects of being an attorney. To pass the Bar Examination, you must receive a minimum score of 70%. Should you fail the examination, you must wait 3 days from receiving your results before requesting another attempt.

Upon receiving the examination, you will have 72 hours to complete all questions and send it back via email to whom it was sent by. Failure to do so within the specified time frame will result in an immediate failure.

1. You must be at least 21 years of age and a United States Citizen at the time of requesting the examination.
2. Additionally, you must be in good standing with the state:
   1. you must not have a warrant for your arrest,
   2. all citations must be paid at the time of requesting,
   3. and you can possess a gun license. The Judicial Branch will follow the same protocols that govern the gun licensing division of the LSPD. Shown here.

Previously licensed felons, will have to follow the Bar License Reinstatement Procedure.

For each examination requested, a fee of $50,000 or $30,000 must first be paid at City Hall to the San Andreas State Government. (( /donategovernment )). This fee can be paid by the applicant or by a law firm employing the person if they wish to do so. Once the fee is paid, you must save the receipt and submit a copy of it in the appropriate section on the form.
Please note:

• If you are employed by a recognized Law Firm or company with an active business agreement with the Judicial Branch, your fee will be reduced by half.
• If you are a member of the San Andreas Judicial Branch, you will be exempt from this fee and just need to mention you are a part of the LRC in your application.

If you fail the examination, you will be required to pay an additional $50,000 or $30,000 if you are employed by a recognized Law Firm, for each successive attempt.

Once you officially become a member of the Bar, you will be required to pay Bar Membership Dues totaling $6,000 every 6 months. It is a minimal amount used to help members of the Bar Association determine active Bar License holders versus inactive ones. You will not be required to pay dues on your Bar License until you have possessed a license for 6 months. All membership dues will be recorded in your attorney profile located here.

Certain Law Offices (partnered with the Judicial Branch), members of the Judicial Branch, and actively employed members of Law Enforcement or the Government do not have to pay Bar Membership Dues.

Bar Membership Dues can NOT be made in bulk payments. The Judicial Branch is not responsible for returning payments made above the designated amount of $6,000.
