  • 3.1) Why are you seeking employment with the San Andreas Judicial Branch? (200 word minimum.):
    • I am seeking employment with the San Andreas Judicial Branch because I am looking to move into a new chapter of my life to be able to understand both sides. As an officer, and especially as a gang officer, I was trained to be hardened against criminals. That is what I had to be in order to survive with fiercely violent gang members. As my career progressed, and especially as I dealt with non-gang members, I started to realize that some people were being very overcharged for no reason, some even by me, and there was nothing they could do about it. There was no judicial process for them to be able to follow if an officer made a bad move, besides IA which took forever lots of the time. Despite being born in Mexico, I am very patriotic toward the United States and I understand the Constitution and the values of history. No representation is what happens a lot of time, on both sides, without fair or due process. I want to add to that due process and assist the citizens of the city whom I care so deeply about. I understand both the law and criminal side, and I am prepared and ready to represent both. I am ready for this next step, and am ready to use my logic and knowledge of US law from being an officer and studying cases to the advantage of people who are not able to assist themselves.
  • 3.2) Please provide a short biography about yourself that highlights why you should be selected from other candidates. (150 word minimum.):
    • My name is Jimmy Hammels, and I have been around the block both on the side of the law and the criminal. I moved out of Mexico at a young age, and moved to Boston where I joined a group of small criminals. There, I had my run ins with the law, and understood both sides of the conflict. I moved out of there once again when I became an adult, my mother forced me to move to Los Santos. From there I had to get my act together, and in a few months, I was an EMT employed by the Los Santos Medical Department. There, I learned very important skills, working as a team, communication, responding to authority, and interacting with people who are in need. Once I resigned from there, I moved to become a police officer, where I gained a deeper appreciation for America, it’s Constitution and the laws governing the citizens. I learned about different court cases and how those applied to the actions I was doing as a gang officer. Because of this, I am very knowledgeable in United States law, including case law and laws varying by states and municipalities. This is why I am valuable, I understand both sides and always try to see the point of view of whomever I interact with.
  • 3.3) What would you say is the most valuable trait that you possess, and how that could benefit the branch? (75 word minimum.):
    • The most valuable trait that I possess is my ambition. My knowledge is a close second, but my ambition to become more intelligent and to progress through the ranks into leadership positions is unmatched. I am a natural born leader, and I always use the philosophy that whether you make mistakes is not up to you, that is pre-determined as a yes, what matters is the way you learn and fix those mistakes. One of my all time favorite quotes is “You don’t get someone to learn by telling them, you get them to learn by making them do it.” I have always learned and taught in that philosophy, and for that reason I am always ready and willing to quickly progress to leadership positions to be able to teach others what I already understand.
  • 3.4) How much time and energy do you plan on dedicating towards the branch in the event you are hired?
    • In the event that I am hired, I am willing to commit many hours in a week, both through paperwork, communication in person, and in trials to the branch.
  • 3.5) How did you hear about this position?
    • I heard about this branch right before my PD resignation, where law was becoming something officers were being trained on being aware of.
