• Around two months ago, I conducted a fire safety inspection at SADOC and it failed miserably. I believe it has been enough time now to have another go at trying to pass the fire safety inspection.
  
  The following is the things that are checked in fire safety inspections:
  Fire Inspection Checklist
  • Review the building access and outdoor premises
  • Check the exits and escape routes
  • Assess the electrical systems
  • Check all emergency lighting
  • Inspect all fire extinguishers
  • Test the fire alarm system
  • Inspect the fire sprinkler system ( In applicable cases )
  • Inspect the special suppression systems (if applicable)
  • Review use of heat-producing devices and appliances
  • Assess the maintenance of building areas
  • Test all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
  
  Please try and cover all the above points, replacing anything you need from YouTool before the fire safety inspection! I believe we are missing a lot of extinguishers, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.

• Summary of the Inspection:
  Review the building access and outdoor premises
  Review has been done.
  Following points stood out:
  - Fire hydrants do not appear to be on/near the property or are not easy to find.
  - Fire department connection is hidden and blocked behind bushes and trees. Please see attached image.

Inspected fire extinguishers, inspected the fire sprinkler system and tested the fire alarm system.

• Summary of the Inspection:
  - Check the exits and escape routes
  - Check all emergency lighting
  Check has been performed. No exist was obstructed or had unclear exit directions. One exit door at the cell block foyer did not have a functioning light, which is replaced. All other lights were tested and appeared fully functional.

• Summary of the Inspection:
  Assess the electrical systems
  Check has been performed. One of the inspected power units had a wire replacement due to the isolation layer not being up to standards, being a potential for fire hazards. This unit is located at the intake room behind the door.
