My name is Corey Brooks, I am 25 years old. I grew up in a small town in Western Australia called Mingenew, the small town only had couple stores and a local pub. My parents owned a large station on the outskirts of Mingenew that attended to wild animals anything from Horses to Kangaroos. We would track down injured wildlife and nurse them back to health before letting them back out in the wild. After finishing high school, I decided to move to Perth and attend the University of Western Australia after getting accepted.
A couple years passed, and I had completed my veterinarian bachelor and I decided to move back to the family station to assist my family with running the station. Shortly after returning home, I found out that my father had fallen horribly sick with Legionaries Disease and the fight was almost over. I spent the next couple months watching over my father and attending to the station.
My father passed away a couple months after I returned and this devastated my mother massively, she wanted to sell the station and move away because the memories of my dad was too much. We sat down and sorted out the station and placed it on the market and sold it, this allowed my mother to purchase a small house in New South Whales closer to her family.
I decided to move back to Perth, it took a while to find a job, but I finally got a position at the Perth Zoo attending to the sick animals and nursing them back to health. The job was amazing, but it constantly brought back memories of my father and I could not handle the depression. An old school friend of mine mentioned something about attending the Navy had changed his life, at that point in time my depression was dragging me down and stopping me from functioning and I thought I would apply to the Royal Australian Navy and attend their academy.
Weeks pasted and I heard nothing from the Academy, the depression continued to drown down on me but finally a letter arrived. The letter was nothing back great news, as I got accepted to attend the academy. Packed my bags and started my journey with the Royal Australian Navy.
The Royal Australian Navy academy training program lasted an entire year, but I managed to pass majority of the courses with highest honours. I had to pass many different courses like Marksmanship, Diving and Leadership/Teamwork. This tested my limits to the absolute max. I wanted to contact my mother and tell her about the good news, but I discovered that my mother passed away that morning.
It drove me crazy that I could not share my accomplishments with my mother, and I decided to use all the money I had saved from the Academy and purchase a plane ticket to Los Santos and leave Australia for good, leave the depression behind and start fresh.
Arrived in Los Santos with barely any clothes, food or money but this wouldn't stop me from getting on my feet, a job opportunity become available at Young Bucks Trucking, and I applied, I got the job but the job soon became redundant due to them going out of business, so I had to think quick on my feet and find a job before I would get evicted. A job at the Toll Booths become available and I applied, I soon got accepted and started working almost instantly, it did not take long until the company become overcrowded, and everyone began losing hours. This become a problem, so I decided to quit.
Lots of people mentioned that you could make money fishing and selling the fish to the local market, so I brought a fishing rod and started fishing, this made me enough money to afford rent and food, but I wanted something more from life and I noticed an old paper laying on the ground at the pier and it mentioned something about the San Andreas Department of Corrections, so I decided to send in an application.
I will dedicated most of my time to the Department of Corrections, I will prove to my fellow colleges and management that I'm here to work and not to muck around, I'm a serious person and when I have my mind set on something, I will always follow that until the end.
Why do I want to join the San Andreas Department of Corrections, I have thought about this question a lot. I want to be apart of something that makes a difference, I'm someone that will always remain completely professional in any situation and I have a decent amount of qualifications, I have been working hard my entire life to make a difference and change the world. I used to save wild animals from dying and nurse them back to health, then send them away. Why should you hire me? I don't think I'm better then any of the other applicants, but I know I will work ten times harder then any other applicant to prove myself.
Yes, I have had to deal with many situations back home evolving sick scared wildlife that could've turned horrible if I didn't handle the situation with care and a professional attitude, attending the Naval Academy has also placed me in several different situations that has shown us how to handle myself under pressure and a stressful situation. Personally I think I strive under Pressure or when I'm thrown into a stressful situation, I don't buckle.

These are some of the courses we had to pass during the academy, medical training, marksmanship training, leadership and survival training, diving training and extreme fitness course.
