Please provide a short biography about yourself (minimum 100 words):
My name is Jesse Burks. I was born in a suburb of Amarillo, Texas to my Mother and Father, as well as my older brother Pete
and my dog, Biscuit. Throughout my childhood I didn't face many struggles, in fact, I almost had a perfect life, just me and my family in a well off neighborhood, going to play in the park, and watching movies together every Saturday. This all changed when I was 14, and my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 thyroid cancer. This would go on to change my life forever. After pouring hundreds of thousands into a failed treatment for my father, he passed away 2 years later. Now, poor. depressed, and mourning, we packed up our stuff and moved to Los Santos, with hopes to start a new life. But that never happened. Instead we remained poor, and with not enough money to go to college and no financial aid, I made the decision to enlist in the military. After serving for 5 years, I decided to move back to Los Santos, and I hope to find a new career in the SADOC.
In the event that I acquire a position with the San Andreas Department of Corrections, I would be able to expend nearly all of my time and effort towards my job. To me, work is what gets me through it each day. I am motivated by work and would hope to be able to spend much of my time working, especially at such an organization as the DOC.
As a military veteran, I want to join the Department of Corrections for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, I have a passion for law enforcement. I constantly find myself craving the thrill of action, danger in my life. Normal jobs just bore me and don't satisfy that craving. I'm hoping that at the SADOC I can thrive in an environment much more my speed, and work hard to keep the streets of Los Santos safe. That brings me to my other reason for wanting to join DOC. In my time here in San Andreas, I have noticed that there is a ridiculous amount of crime throughout the streets. Already in my short time here I have been mugged several times, a few times by convicted felons. I see too many criminals being sent to prison only to come back out and keep committing crime. I hope to help make sure that we keep bad people off the streets, and teach prisoners a lesson. We need to rehabilitate these criminals and turn them into upstanding citizens. At DOC, I would help in any way I could to foster this prison reform. I should be hired over other applicants because other applicants don't have the same passion that I do. I have the drive to get this job and complete my duties to the fullest extent of my abilities. This is why I should be hired.
I have lots of experience handling stressful situations and believe that I can handle myself very well under pressure. It's important to remember to view a situation calmly and assess the best course of action. I perform very well under pressure to perform as I am always eager to impress my peers.
My military experience, coupled with my extreme patience and problem-solving skills make me qualified for this job and would also make me a great asset to the SADOC. I am very passionate about my work and would be eager to come in each and every day to gain experience and learn something new. I believe people should never stop learning and I hope to gain some unique experience at this position.

Yes, I do have experience in military or law enforcement. At the age of 18, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman. I served there for 5 years before retiring to come to San Andreas, where I now reside. In my time in the Marine Corps I was forced to deal with difficult and stressful situations on a daily basis, and put my life on the line for the sake of Freedom.
Yes I was in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman.
Yes, In the Marine Corps I was often asked to conduct group missions in which cooperation and teamwork were the key to success. Failure to sync up with my fellow soldiers could have had disastrous consequences, and so I learned to be cooperative and work well within a group.
No, I have never been convicted of a crime.

Yes, a little less than a month ago I received a 60 minute jail sentence. This jail sentence was issued because I was trying to role play as my character and didn't realize that the event I was at was official. Background: I am role playing as Boris, a methed up, drunk, clinically insane Russian man who chops off penises for fun in his spare time. I saw that there was a new marker on my map, buggy races. I attended the races as I thought it would be fun and even participated in one. I did not win, and when I got back to the crowd I saw an opportunity for some funny role play. What if I drove my van onto the track and raced with the buggies? I did this, and was instantly teleported off the track by an admin. Without giving me time to explain, he jailed me. I now realize that it probably wasn't fun for the participants in the race, and I have learned from my mistake. However, I was egged on by multiple other spectators, and was staying on par with my character's antics. Therefore I don't believe that I deserved an OOC punishment for my actions and that it was an IC matter.
