  3.1) Why are you interested in Chief Public Defender? How would this aling with your long-term goals?
  • I have had becoming a dream and goal since i started at JB i have dreamth of becoming it and working it for a long while and then moving over to a court clark and becoming a Judge as i feel this would be nice. I am also a person who wants to make the divison great and show them how to do things and update different things that need to be updated. I have taking up the mantal while there is no one and i believe i have shown what i can do and how well i can do it. I have handed out cases, i am on a case and i do a lot for defense to keep us a float. I have been in JB for a long time and seen all my bosses give good things and shown me the way. I believe that I have the experience to be a good interim chief and even to become full chief of Defense if I was given the chance.
  3.2) As Chief Public Defender, you will oversee complex cases and manage a team. How would you handle the responsibility of guiding and training junior prosecutors?
  • I have been doing that even when Izaak was chief as he would ask me to show them how to suppress things how to make formats, etc. I have a definetly one to one kind of learning skill i can teach on a 1 - 1 bases as i believe this is the best way because they don't feel nervous when its a group i am always a reasurring person who is there for everyone and when someone needs to be shown something i step up and do it the same way i did when izaak resigned.
  3.3) What qualities do you believe are most important for an Chief Public Defender?
  • I am good in stressful situations and I know how to work and show people how to work in the defense as I have done it before. When Mr Scott left JB I stepped into his role for 2 weeks while Hope tried to find a permanent person to sit in that position. I feel I have the experience and knowledge for this role.
  3.4) Do you have any ideas or plans for the Public Defense Division upon successful hire?
  • I want to fix the Public Defense area and do outreach to bring more people into JB and also want to start working on a better way to teach new Defense attorneys.
