Los Santos County Sheriff's Department "A TRADITION OF SERVICE" News Release December 8th, 2025 |
- ONE YEAR LATER: REMEMBERING THE BATTLE OF KUTTE THROAT

- Blaine County: The 8th of December 2024 marks the most vicious and violent day in the Los Santos Sheriff's Department's history. In November the same year, a criminal organization known as The Lost had declared war on the Sheriff's Department - which the violence continued to escalate until the situation reached its breaking point, later becoming known as Operation Kutte Throat.
Earlier on the 8th, units indicated a substantial presence of heavily armed combatants encircling Sandy Station. Multiple members of the Sheriff's Department attempted to negotiate a peace between the involved parties but the enemy refused all offers, and entrenched themselves on a multistory building overlooking the entirety of Vespucci Beach and onwards.
While performing recon of the small army during Command's deliberations on how to proceed, several aircrafts from the San Andreas Government were shot down, initiating a fatal firefight between the parties. For the next hour and a half, the entirety of every department of San Andreas Government capacity, SADOC, LSSD, LSPD, SAGOV & LSEMS, launched an all out assault on Vespucci Beach in an effort to clear the enemy from their defensive position.
During Kutte Throat, two law enforcement officers lost their lives, whilst 38 hostile individuals were confirmed deceased and two hostiles were taken into custody.
Those who participated in the fighting were honored by way of ribbon and commemorative letter from then Undersheriff John Wallace himself.
I remember it vividly. The gunfire, the screaming. There was no retreat that night. Only forward, only into the breach. I remember shouting for as many units as I could to join my flank, pushing forward and following Sheriff Kirk into the gunfire. I remember it all like yesterday, the frustrations we felt and the weariness in our bones.

When you boiled it all down, it all came down to a matter of principle. We were tired of burying brothers, tired of spouses being widowed and children orphaned.
Criminals don't care. They never did, they still don't.
They talk of unity and brotherhood and family, yet desecrate the very idea when they leave their houses with the goal of murder and slaughter in their minds. The hypocracy reached its peak when those helicopters came under fire on December 8th, 2024.
I was in one.
I only had a split second window to pull my rip cord and descent safely into the streets, watching tracer fire blinding my vision as they tried to shoot me out of the sky. When I landed, I retreated with a few units to reaquire assets and stray deputies, mobilized who we could...and marched them straight into that beach.
I remember my call of "WE'RE FOLLOWING THE SHERIFF!", moving with the main force through the alleyways. I remember when the call came in that Kirk was struck by gunfire as we advanced towards the kill-tower the enemy entrenched themselves in.
Though he was stable and transported out of the combat zone, relief turned swiftly into pure rage.
We had enough. We had enough for too long, and this was where it was gonna stop, come hell or tidal water.
I remember launching myself over the low wall onto the higher terrace, coming under automatic fire. The edges of my vision burned red, my kevlar was struck twice, but further, further we went. Forward we charged. I remember the climb up the stairs, onto the rooftop where the dead and dying lay in troves.
I remember the final count: 2 LEOs KIA, 38 suspects killed, a handful in custody. A monumental victory, but at a grave cost.
2 more brothers buried...2 more families broken.
This is why we can never forget December 8th.
This is why we can never forgive December 8th.
That night, we proved that we will do WHATEVER it takes, to ensure Kutte Throat never happens again, that families will remain intact and peace will be maintained.
For those of you willing to continue challenging that principle of peace and prosperity, for those who've not learned the lessons of your underworld's history, we're prepared to teach you.
We're ready.
Are you?
