"A TRADITION OF SERVICE"
News Release
June 21st, 2025

  • HOW TO MAKE A 911 CALL - CAMPAIN INTRODUCTION
  • Blaine County: The Los Santos Sheriff's Department has observed a growing trend of 911 calls lacking critical information, making it more difficult for responding units to take appropriate action. In response, the department is launching a dedicated campaign to educate citizens on the proper way to make effective and informative 911 calls.

    CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCEMENT
The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department is proud to launch a month-long campaign aimed at educating the citizens of the State of Los Santos on how to make proper 911 emergency calls. This initiative is designed to maximize outreach and significantly improve the quality and accuracy of information provided during emergency calls. The campaign will be structured into four weekly segments, each addressing common mistakes frequently made when dialing 911.

    • Reporting a stolen vehicle
    • Reporting a medical emergency
    • Reporting mass causality event
    • Non-emergency 911 calls

Each week's press release will feature a short, humorous video that breaks down the weekly topic, alongside educational posters placed throughout the State of Los Santos. In addition, a wide-reaching Weazel News advertisement campaign will roll out, including posters and text messages linking to the video and spotlighting the key points of the week’s focus.

Every video will also include a “Question of the Week.” Citizens who submit the correct answer will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win $50,000. The winner will be announced in the following week’s press release.

    CONCLUSION
We hope this press release has been informative and helps spark a positive shift in the way 911 calls are made. We invite you to check out next week’s release, where we’ll kick off the campaign with the first topic: how to properly report a stolen vehicle.
