Opening Message

Spring has sprung and everyone seems in high spirits at Bolingbroke, but maybe thats just from the excessive amount of chocolate from the Easter Bunny.
It has been another month of consistent highs followed by some lows, ensuring we're on high alert most of the time.
As you can see from this press release we have tried to keep things light as usual!
We hope you enjoy reading!

New Month New Goals!
đ New Month = New Missions.

At SADOC, weâre all about continuous improvement, not just for the people we serve but also for our awesome team. We know that learning and personal development are super important for success. That's why we offer various chances for our staff to level up their skills and knowledge, no matter what position they hold.
Weâve got a bunch of initiatives like engaging training sessions to boost specific skills, hands-on workshops for practical learning, and a friendly environment where team members can share insights and learn from each other. We believe that working together and exchanging knowledge really drives growth.
As the world changes around us, being adaptable is crucial to our success. Still, we stay true to our core values, making sure that all our growth efforts stick to our established rules and standards. While we know growth is essential, we believe it should happen within certain limits, and weâre committed to keeping that balance as we work on improving our services and team spirit.

April Showers
đ§ïž Drip So Hard⊠Must Be April Showers

At SADOC, weâre eagerly hoping for a respite from those persistent April showers! đ§ïž As we patiently anticipate some brighter, sunnier days ahead, we wanted to share a gentle reminder to always keep your umbrellas close at hand. You never know when those unexpected rain clouds will roll in and catch us by surprise.
Whether itâs a refreshing drizzle or a full-blown downpour, we continue to push forward with our activities and plans. However, itâs undeniable that staying dry can make all the difference in our day! âïž
So, letâs stay prepared and make the most of whatever weather comes our way! â

Divisional Spotlight - CERT

Divisional Highlight: CERT

During a critical incident, SADOC CERT swiftly responded when multiple agencies were called into action. As a quick response force, our team was deployed following a distress call from LSPD, who were under gunfire after a 911 call came in. Sergeant Chris Whittle led the team in a highly coordinated and effective response, arriving on the scene in under two minutes.
Once arrived, CERT units engaged in a counter-assault alongside LSPD, helping neutralize the threat and securing the area. Their quick thinking and precise execution were pivotal in keeping everyone safe and minimizing further harm. The team provided first aid to those injured, including two individuals and an LSPD officer, and immediately set up a secure perimeter. The injured were safely transported to Pillbox MD for treatment.
In the aftermath, the CERT team successfully completed the transfer of the secured individuals, ensuring they were transported to SADOC without incident. This seamless operation demonstrated the exceptional skill, bravery, and teamwork of the CERT members, including Jeff Cooper, Matthew Armstrong, Eoghan Sterling, Steve Angerson, Danielle Young, Chris Whittle, Dan Endo and Mark Bloomfield, whose professionalism and leadership helped bring the situation to a safe resolution.
Each of them followed Chrisâs lead without hesitation, helped secure dangerous suspects, and assisted LSPD with their injured officers. That kind of bravery and teamwork deserves some recognition and ribbons all around because lives were saved, and justice was served.

PR Team Spotlight
PR Team Spotlight
Starting this month, we will be highlighting members of the Public Relations (PR) team to show off all of the hard work they do and to help the community to get to know us better. For this monthâs spotlight, we would like to introduce you to Officer Eoghan Sterling!
Throughout Eoghanâs time in PR, he has assisted with writing sections of our monthly press releases, conducted tours, shared ideas, and worked on planning events. He has also taken lead on some upcoming plans, including writing segments and events. His dedication in the division has helped to foster creativity and community within DOC.
We asked Eoghan a few questions about his experience in PR:
What made you decide to join PR?
What is your favorite project youâve worked on so far?I've always loved interacting with the public and joining PR is a way for me to do this and help show that DOC isn't just a prison!
What do you look forward to as you continue your time in PR?I think my favourite project is still something that's being planned that hasn't been announcement yet so I'm unsure as to how much I can say about it! But when it's announced it'll be a spectacular event!
Thank you, Eoghan, for your amazing and continued contributions!Honestly, the continued interaction with the public! I know that people view DOC as this big bad place but honestly, we're far from it! All the guards no matter what rank are all extremely friendly and we all get on like a massive, yet ever so slightly, dysfunctional family! I want people to see that side of DOC. I want to show that we care about those entrusted to our care the same way we care for each other!
Employee of the Month
Each month here at the San Andreas Department of Corrections we like to bestow an honor on this month's best performing officer who has shown time and time again that they put maximum effort and commitment into their work. The officer selected for this prestigious award has proved themselves as a representation of how each officer working for our department should strive to be.

Questions for the Employee of the Month
We like to ask the employee of the month a few questions to get their perspective on the job and what makes a great officer, below are a few answers to common questions by our Employee of the Month:
Looking back, what are memorable achievements from your service so far?
Moving forward what are the next goals as a SADOC officer?
Any advice they would give to future prospects who might think about joining the SADOC?
Looking back, what are memorable achievements from your service so far?
Of course one of my most memorable achievements would be becoming Employee of the Month, I am also proud of all the work i have done in the Groundskeeping division and the success i have had in it.
Moving forward what are the next goals as a SADOC officer?
My next goals for my career in the SADOC is to keep progressing in the divisions I am in and at some point become a supervisor.
Any advice they would give to future prospects who might think about joining the SADOC?
Try it out its a truly fulfilling job, don't be afraid to ask COs about it, i bet they would be more than happy to talk about it! And come in with an open mind and readiness to learn and you will be well taken care of.
Visitation
Has your wife, brother, husband, sister, mother, uncle, friend, or even your nemesis ever been brought to SADOC? Great newsâyou can visit them! Our visitation is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even on holidays (because crime doesnât take a day off).
There is, however, a small catch: at least two Correctional Officers need to be available to assist with visitation. If theyâre busy elsewhere, feel free to pop back laterâweâll be here!
Visitation Rules:
- No physical contact. Sorry, hugs are off the table.
- No whispering. Keep it loud and clear, folks.
- No passing of items. Anything you want to exchange will be checked for contraband first.
- Maximum visitation time is 1 hour ((15 minutes OOCLY)).
For those who love to bend the rules, be warned: we have a blacklist! Certain individualsâlike our MSIsâare restricted from visitation. Remember, visitation is a privilege, not a right, and it can be declined for a variety of reasons.
Oh, and donât forget to check out our Inmate of the Month! Who says prison life doesnât have awards?

Phone Calls

The 10-15 can use the phone call for any number of reasons such as letting their mom know they're going to be in prison for a few years, telling their significant other to come to visit them, or getting a friend to feed their pet while they're incarcerated.
Phone calls are a privilege, not a right. Any Correctional Officer has the right to decline you for a phone call for any reason they see fit.
