Summer Seasonal Advisory and Tips

LOS SANTOS, SA —
As the clock of nature keeps ticking and the calendar pages keep turning, San Andreas is finally enjoying the warmer temperatures of the summer season, replacing the sour winter mood and shivers with outgoing and happier social activities for many.

As summer brings people out of their homes, causing higher attendance at beaches, parks, festivals, venues, and other public spaces, causing higher traffic volumes, the Department encourages citizens, residents and tourists alike, to be mindful and keep safety reminders in mind.
  • Always stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas and during large events.
  • Keep your personal belongings close and within sight; do not leave valuables unattended or visible, especially inside (parked) vehicles.
  • Lock your vehicle doors and close the windows when leaving your vehicle, even if momentarily.
  • Never get behind the wheel while impaired by alcohol or drugs, especially during the summer; summer heat causes alcohol to hit faster and feel more intense.
  • Stay hydrated, particularly when temperatures are elevated.
  • Supervise children in public, especially when they are close to pools, beaches, and other bodies of water.
  • Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle left in the sun, especially during elevated temperatures; if you are on a quick store run, for example, and leave only for a minute or two, always leave a window open enough to circulate the warm air.
  • Be mindful of those around you, and pay attention to the signs of heat stroke, such as confusion, slurred speech, delirium, seizures, or rapid and shallow breathing. If you believe someone is suffering from heat stroke, dial emergency services immediately.
Summer is a time of improved moods, general happiness, public events, and community get-togethers, which makes summer a time most enjoyable when spent safely, responsibly, and mindfully. If the community works together and is mindful of each other, everyone can make their summer an enjoyable and memorable one.

The Los Santos Police Department wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable summer season.
