Discovery of Robbery in Progress Results in Officer-Involved Shooting
LOS SANTOS, SA —
On the late evening of April 13th, Los Santos Police Officers were present in the general Mirror Park area following a vehicle pursuit, when they arrived at the Mirror Park Boulevard convenience store. Once there, officers were able to ascertain through the clear windows of the store that there were multiple individuals inside, and that they had stumbled on an ongoing armed store robbery.
Once the officers determined what was happening and sprang into action, five individuals later associated with the group dubbed "High Rollers" ran out of the store, two of whom were confirmed to have been armed. One armed suspect remained and opened fire on the responding officers, while his associates fled the area.
Officers were able to swiftly incapacitate the armed assailant, later identified as Javier Cruz. Cruz was charged with attempted murder of a government employee, armed robbery, and possession of a class 2 firearm, and pled guilty to all three counts.
Proactive policing can only go so far without community assistance. The Los Santos Police Department urges citizens of the City and State to dial 911 for ongoing emergencies and crimes, and to submit police reports with any knowledge that they may have about a potential crime that has occurred. They are encouraged to do so through the Community Online Reporting Service.
