Los Santos: On January 24th 2026, as the final whistle blew at Maze Bank Arena, Mission Rovers FC completed their Season 4 Playoff campaign in stunning fashion, winning all ten of their playoff games and achieve a worldwide Top 100 finish at Division 3 as of writing this. Mission Rovers FC is the Los Santos Police Department's semi-professional soccer team.
The Seasonal Playoffs run at the end of every season, from Thursday until Thursday and teams from all over the country compete against ten opponents, with not only wins but goal difference determining their final rankings and what prizes await the victors. In Season 3, Mission Rovers finished 8132nd, achieving a mid-table finish with a 8-2 win/loss record. This was an improvement on their Season 2 performance which culminated in a 7-3 win/loss record.
It has been a difficult season for Rovers, with rumours rife of dressing room disagreements which culminated in explosive fashion with training equipment being destroyed and one player leaving a match early after one particularly bad outburst. Rovers struggled to lock down a particular formation and style of play, which had been a far cry from their last foray into the Playoffs. Rovers' fans would be forgiven for assuming the worst following some disastrous performances such as the 4-3 loss to FC Muckers Wood and a particularly damaging 5-3 loss to Haylock AFC which resulted in a humiliating relegation to Division 4.
Facing an excessive run of fixtures and being without both retired Police Captain Josh Durry (hamstring) and San Andreas Government's own Dan Endo (thigh strain), Rovers faced their most difficult period bringing in Civilian Employees, Justin Li and Jin Yin into the problematic midfield. A formation change from a narrow 4-1-2-1-2 to a narrow 4-2-3-1 and George Hill dropping back to a wider position meant Rovers rang the changes but after a false start in which they lost 4-1 to Bad Bys FC, inexplicably it clicked.

LSPD's Mission Rovers FC Achieves Invincible Playoff Dream

Rovers began their stunning form with a 6-3 demolition of Red Bandits FC. Aaron Marks, previously dishonourably discharged from the Los Santos Police Department as a Police Officer III, was restored to lead the line and that faith in him was immediately repaid. Rovers won three more times in the league, sealing an immediate return to Division 3 at the first time of asking.Dan Endo wrote:I was proper gutted to miss out, I've gone to put some posters up and done me knee. Gutted for the boys, but I knew they could get it done even without me. The lads have been great in bringing me in, even though I've never worked at the LSPD and they've made me feel like one of their own. I can't wait to get back out on the grass and mix it up with them, reckon we can do something special next season!
The Playoffs started with a tricky trip to the Leonida State, to play Colhaw FC with Rovers coming from behind twice to seal a 5-4 victory. The first day of fixtures was marred in controversy after allegations of racial abuse from Foreigners Out towards Captain George Hill during a 5-2 hammering but not to be deterred, they finished the day really strong with a demolition of Zanzimoor by 6-0.Aaron Marks wrote:Fair play, we've been honking in the last couple weeks and its been a miserable couple of months for me, like. Obviously losing our day job wasn't ideal but it's give me more time to work on meself and really focus on doing what I love. Got me new bird and I'm back up front where I belong, like me old pal Shearer. It's been tough like, trying to keep a lid on it at times when peoples having a go at us but as a team we just decided to crack on like.
Day Two of the Playoffs brought it's own test, with the expectation on Rovers escalating after their first day's escapades. What followed next was simply stunning. Opening with a clinical 5-2 win over Liberty City's own Goofy Gooners, followed by an 8-0 hammering and 6-0 thumping of Took Too Long and Gimpy FC at the Maze Bank Arena. Rovers faced their strongest test yet, facing off against the in-form Wendy Forgot FC and had to rely on a last minute winner to get them over the line in the penultimate game. The final game was upon them, with a trip to Carcer City to face off against some tough opposition who cannot be named for legal reasons but an incisive twenty minutes which lead to Rovers going 2-0 up meant that the rest of the game was plain sailing.Police Captain George Hill wrote:I was really pleased with my performances, especially during the Playoffs. It's unfortunate that people can't just play the game and lose, fair and square, that they have to resort to stuff like racism but it is what it is. It's an unfortunate aspect of my day job but if anything it just motivates me to work harder, on and off the pitch. Come on.
Mission Rovers now wait the rest of the teams' results, to determine their final position but the omens are good for a very successful end to a pretty turbulent and difficult season!Assistant Chief Dezzy Bala wrote:In this sport, as in life, sometimes things get tough and you have to decide for yourself how much you really want to get something from it. There was a point in time where I think a few of us were considering if this was for us, but by doubling down on our efforts and working for the person next to you, it's amazing what you can achieve and we have. Looking forward to the new season now and seeing how far we can take this. We'll lose games, of course, but it feels like we've turned a corner going forward and the future's bright. Will be back in the blue uniform coming Monday morning though!
