Chief's Message - September 2025
Los Santos: As the Los Santos Police Department concludes the month of August, Chief Elena Flores extends a message of reflection and addresses the accomplishments, challenges, and future endeavors of the Department.
Chief Elena Flores wrote: Leaving August behind for September sets in motion the annual process of moving to the end of summer, a mark in time that certainly has a divide of admirers, some looking forward to the colder weather and coziness of autumn, while others mourn the summer.
For the Department, August has been relatively quiet in terms of operational activity, with the Los Santos Police Department maintaining the status quo. Our officers have continued to do their job as expected, and no major changes have taken place to that effect.
In terms of notable events, though, the Department has seen a significant change in its leadership team due to the resignation and retirement of Deputy Chief Victor Einhart, a long-term veteran of the Department, and by some considered the father of special operations, put in his papers for retirement and left his career in law enforcement behind to pursue a quieter life full of hobbies and joy. Victor will be missed dearly by many of us.
The departure of Deputy Chief Einhart has, in a positive turn of events, also paved the way for Deputy Chief Gareth Longford, who has been reassigned to take over the position previously held by Einhart, as the Commanding Officer of our Counter-Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau.
Internally, we have had a few get-togethers for our officers, including a racing derby hosted by our very own Rockford Hills Patrol Division, spearheaded by Lieutenant Charles Williams, which saw officers of many different divisions and assignments come together for an evening of fun and competition through different activities.
On a final note, I wish to express once more my gratitude for the unwavering dedication and commitment of our officers, the deputies of the Sheriff's Department, all government workers, and every citizen who has contributed to making the City of Los Santos a better, safer place.
