Los Santos: As the Los Santos Police Department concludes the month of May, Chief Elena Flores extends a message of reflection and addresses the accomplishments, challenges, and future endeavors of the Department.

Chief Elena Flores wrote: With another change in month, as we move from May to June, we are steadily headed on our way to summer once more. The days are longer, the days warmer, with breezy evenings to end them off. Moreover, as we move into June, we have also stepped into Pride Month and Men's Mental Health Month, both of which are significant events important to the Los Santos Police Department.

The Los Santos Police Department recognizes and stands in full support of Pride Month and the LGBTQIA+ communities, not only outside but also within the Department, and encourages those part of communities and movements, such as but not limited to LGBTQIA+, to express themselves and to pride themselves into being themselves, standing up for what is right, and showcasing their pride for being part of such communities.

As an employer, the Los Santos Police Department has conducted numerous reviews of policies and procedures over the past few years to ensure they are accommodating and fair to all, so as to provide a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment. As an outward-facing and representative agency in support of LGBTQIA+ communities and employing members of those communities, discussions, and reviews are being held with the motor transport division to deliberate on expressing and representing this pride through pride-themed vehicles.

Men's (Mental) Health Month is a month of awareness intended to break the silence around men's mental health, encouraging them to support, speak up, and fight stigma within their communities. The Los Santos Police Department encourages open conversation and support for men's mental health and is reviewing options for campaigns pertaining to the importance of (mental) health. Health matters, and should not be disregarded.

As for the Department itself, May has been a relatively quiet, stable month, which is not necessarily a negative descriptor for a month. We have seen an increase in bus traffic after city planners collaborated with the management of the transit companies and set forth their new plans, which have resulted in an increased necessity of law enforcement vigilance over public transport.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide an update on the renovations of the Mission Row Station beyond stating that the renovations are still ongoing in all stages.

On a final note, I wish to express once more my gratitude for the unwavering dedication and commitment of our officers, the deputies of the Sheriff's Department, all government workers, and every citizen who has contributed to making the City of Los Santos a better, safer place.

The Los Santos Police Department is committed to ensuring and protecting the safety and security of citizens and tourists of Los Santos to the highest standards of law enforcement. We are always looking for passionate individuals to join our ranks. If you are inspired to make a difference in your community, consider a career with LSPD. The LSPD is hiring for the early morning and late night shifts and can be applied to through the online recruitment portal or by using our online application form.
