1. BACKGROUND CHECK
- A background check as offered by our department is a simple enumeration of a person's criminal history including citations, misdemeanors and felonies; this will typically be used by employers to decide if they should commit to the hiring of an individual, or continue their employment contract.
These will contain a date, which can be considered an estimate with a margin of error of one day, plus or minus; they will not contain the name of the issuing officer, the time or any other additional information about the penal code violation.
The Los Santos Police Department reserves the right to decline to process any request; in exceptional cases you may be required to provide more information than standard, in order to ensure that you do hold the position you claim you do, in the case of requesting a background check for another person.
2. REQUESTING A BACKGROUND CHECK FOR YOURSELF
- Any citizen of the state can request their own criminal history which will encompass their recent criminal history; you can not do a personal request more than once a month, and you can not request your entire criminal history, if it spans longer than the pre-determined options.
In order to verify your identity via the website, you will need to provide the following:- Full name as it appears on your ID;
- Phone number at the time of the request;
- A virtual upload of any valid state-issued license (drivers, trucking, flying);
- A passport style photograph, taken in the last 72 hours.

3. REQUESTING A BACKGROUND CHECK FOR COMPANY/DEPARTMENT
- Any person fulfilling a human resources or similar position within a government or government funded company may submit a request for a background check for one or more of their employees or prospective employees; this can be done as many times as required, within the pre-determined options afforded by the format.
In order to verify your identity via the website, you will need to provide the following:- Full name as it appears on your ID;
- Phone number at the time of the request;
- A virtual upload of any valid state-issued license (drivers, trucking, flying);
- A virtual upload of your HR badge, issued by the government.
