We're already well into 2025 which is crazy! It has been a months of highs and lows but overall the ups have trumped the downs. You'll see we have been working hard on employee morale and fun this month, which can be seen in the many internal events we have hosted.
We have also worked closely with many other departments, such as assisting with protection at City Hall and running a huge Court Case also at city hall.

For World Poetry Day, we dared Kourtney to whip up a poem about life behind bars, and letâs just say, they totally nailed it. March is finally here, and you can really feel the Spring Vibes kicking in around our department. Weâve been busy getting things in order and sprucing up our space to create a fresh atmosphere.
In between our tasks, we took some time to play a few friendly basketball games with a group of really well-behaved inmates.

In addition to making time to enjoy the weather and play games, we have also intensified our efforts to involve inmates in growing food within the prison.
One of the primary ways we're doing this is by utilizing our onsite greenhouse, which is located in the yard. This greenhouse is available for inmates who enjoy gardening, and the produce harvested is used in our kitchen to prepare meals for the inmates during mealtime.

Locked-In Lounge Wear: Pajama Day at the Department!
On the first Friday of March, we threw a fun challenge at the staff: serve some serious style by showing up in their most creative and cozy pajamas. To our surprise, everyone was fully committed to the sentence, rocking everything from comfy flannel sets to silky smooth robes that screamed maximum security elegance.
It was all about comfort, and the vibe was more minimum security than usualâlike we all just escaped from our bunks and straight into the office. The camaraderie was on lock, turning our usual Friday meeting into a full-blown slumber cell-ebration. Laughter echoed through the halls like a prison yard pep rally, and we swapped stories and snacks like contraband in the commissary.
It was a break from the usual lockdown routine, and we loved the positive energy it brought to the team. Safe to say, weâll be sentencing ourselves to another Pajama Day in the future!

At the SADOC, Casual Friday just got a lucky twistâSt. Patrickâs Day edition! đ This Friday, our team is ditching the usual dull uniform colours for shamrock green, because nothing says team spirit like repping the luck of the Irish. Whether itâs a bright green polo, a leprechaun-inspired tie, or even some bold emerald kicks, weâre all about festive but professional. We kept it secure and shamrockinâ! đâš
Jailhouse Croc đ
Casual Friday got locked in this week with a challenge: wear your best Crocs to work. And letâs say, the staff escaped the ordinary! From classic orange to maximum security black, we saw a lineup of Crocs that could do hard time in the fashion hall of fame or infamy. One officer even sported charms spelling âCELL BLOCK CROC.â We try to keep everyone on their toes⊠even if those toes are in yard mode.

At DOC, we unlocked a new level of emo with Emo Friday where staff traded standard-issue khakis for black skinny jeans, studded belts, eyeliner sharp enough to file through cell bars, and enough band tees to make Hot Topic jealous. We proved once and for all that itâs not just a phase, warden.
The cell blocks were darker than our eyeliner and colder than the warden's heart. The only thing blacker than our souls was the over-brewed coffee and the unholy amount of Monster Energy we chugged like it was the last can before lockdown.
We called it âMy Chemical Incarcerationâ behind locked doors, and no cap? It was the most cathartic sentence we ever served.
Even the hardest COs looked like they broke out of a 2007 Warped Tour and got thrown right into Gen Pop. No one could escape the feels not even with a skeleton key.

The Trial of the Century, Secured by the Best

Recently, our team participated in what some are calling the "trial of the century." In this high-pressure situation, our CERT worked closely with the Correctional Services team, along with support from Metro SED and GSB, to keep the courthouse secure.
The vibe was electric as we teamed up to not only safeguard the courthouse but also the surrounding area. With clear communication and solid teamwork, we laid out plans to monitor entry points and maintain a visible presence to ensure everyoneâs safety.
The trial lasted several intense hours, and throughout that time, we stayed sharp, focused, and ready for anything. Despite all the complexities and pressures, our team showed incredible dedication. Thanks to our thorough prep work and teamwork, everything went off without a hitch, allowing the trial to proceed smoothly and safely.

Since Nathan joined our team, heâs shown an amazing level of dedication to his work. His coworkers nicknamed him the "Leader of the Traffic Division" because heâs all about keeping our roads and parking areas safe. Nathan keeps a close eye on vehicle movements and parking to make sure everyone follows the vehicle rules, which helps create a secure environment for drivers and pedestrians alike. Heâs proactive about doing regular safety checks, spotting potential hazards, and making improvements where needed. His attention to detail and proactive mindset not only boost safety standards but also encourage a sense of responsibility among the team.
Senior Correctional Officer Yaakov recently snagged the Academy Instructor of the Month award for February, showing off his awesome dedication to training in our department. He plays a crucial role in getting new recruits up to speed, guiding them through their initial training with plenty of patience and know-how. Plus, he conducts thorough interviews to make sure theyâre ready for whatâs ahead.
But Yaakov doesnât just focus on the newcomers; he really cares about the whole team. Each month, he makes it a point to check in on his colleagues, ensuring they feel appreciated and supported. His approach helps create a welcoming vibe, where everyone can comfortably share their thoughts and experiences. This supportive atmosphere builds a sense of belonging among the team and shows just how committed Yaakov is to both professional growth and personal well-being.

I recently got in touch with Warden Kourtney LaFleur to ask for a quote about Nathan. In her reply, she shared some helpful insights. Hereâs a quick summary of what she said:
Nathan once emailed me about parking my RV in the wrong place, so I told him it was fine to be there. He then followed up, warning me that I could get in trouble. So, I moved it to another area.
I received another email saying I still couldn't park there. Frustrated, I said Jimmithy was renting the RV from me and even made a vehicle registration under his name. Unfortunately, Jimmithy was not willing to take the blame (kinda yikes), so I took drastic measuresâI hired a crane to move the RV on top of a water tower. My excuse? "The wind blew it up there."
Ever since then, I have been in constant fear. I canât step out of my vehicle without checking my surroundings. I close my eyes to sleep, and I swear I hear a voice over the radio asking why my vehicle is parked the wrong way. I wake up drenched in sweat.
I never had a sleep paralysis demon before. I do now. It has the face of Nathan Yaakov.

I caught up with Nathan and asked him what Human Resources means to him. He is unaware this whole segment is about him, so I explained that we were looking at the department as a whole. This is what he had to say:
Human Resources means alot to me these days. I've quickly climbed the ranks to HR Supervisor through hard work and dedication. I place great care and empathy towards my work in HR which I believe greatly contributes to the department. I love hiring new people and watch them flourish, especially those I follow closely.
I would also like to thank Katie Schneider for being the backbone of HR and always being there if I need assistance. It wouldn't be the same without her in HR and the department.
On Behalf of everyone in the Department We just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you, Nathan, for everything you do for us. Your constant support and genuine care really show what a great person you are. We especially love the emails you send about our cars; they really show you care about our safety while off and on duty. Has your wife, brother, husband, sister, mother, uncle, friend, or even your nemesis ever been brought to SADOC? Great newsâyou can visit them! Our visitation is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even on holidays (because crime doesnât take a day off).
There is, however, a small catch: at least two Correctional Officers need to be available to assist with visitation. If theyâre busy elsewhere, feel free to pop back laterâweâll be here!

- Why do you do illegal things?
- Well, that's all I've ever known in this city. But mostly for money.
- What's your favorite thing about DOC?
- I really like the DOC guards, you all are really nice. PD and SD can be⊠not so nice. DOC guards tend to be friendly.
- What's your least favorite thing?
- LSK and Empire are usually in here, because they are s*** criminals. They are pretty wack.
- If you could change one thing about DOC, what would it be?
- Less lockdowns. It's pretty lame when I get locked in a cell for years of my life. It's pretty inhumane.
- What would you do if you were Warden for a day?
- Arrange a petting zoo for the inmates. Iâd get things like donkeys and goats for the inmates to pet.
- Is there someone or something you miss while being in jail?
- I miss my pookie, Tommy Bean. Being in DOC without him has a profound effect on my mental health.
- Why do you think you're in here so often?
- I do a lot of illegal s***, my success rate isn't bad but I do get arrested a lot, it's pretty simple.

- Yeah, f*** Empire, Myles Knight is a snitch, Anthon's a simp, and Molly's diss track was s***.

Phone Calls
The 10-15 can use the phone call for any number of reasons such as letting their mom know they're going to be in prison for a few years, telling their significant other to come to visit them, or getting a friend to feed their pet while they're incarcerated.
Phone calls are a privilege, not a right. Any Correctional Officer has the right to decline you for a phone call for any reason they see fit.
Recruitment Status
Recruitment
- Age: You must be over 18 and no older than 55.
(( Out of Character, must be at least 16 years old.))
Citizenship/Residency: Must be a U.S. Citizen at the time of submitting your application.
Multiple Employments: You can't be a member of PD/SD/JB when applying to SADOC, as these are full-time gigs. You can, however, hold a part-time position while working at SADOC (because who doesn't need a side hustle?). .
- Mental/Physical Fitness: As a Corrections Officer, you need to be in good shapeâboth mentally and physically. Weâll be testing you on this during our hiring process, so start working on that âmind over matterâ stuff now.
- Criminal History:
- If youâve been charged with any disqualifying misdemeanors or felonies, youâll need a firearm license to apply.
- Weâll run an extensive background check on you, including your criminal record, previous employment, traffic violations, and any past affiliations (because weâre thorough like that).

SADOC is Hiring Building Contractors!
Looking for a hands-on role with great pay? SADOC is hiring Building Contractors to help build, upgrade, and maintain areas around the prison and select external properties.
Salary: $5,000 an hour with a 200k Bonus.
Reporting To: High Command
Duties: No standard Correctional Officer responsibilities.
Position Details:
This is a part-time position, allowing you to hold employment in other departmentsâexcept for full-time roles in LSPD or LSSD.
Requirements:
Age: Must be over 18
(((Out of Character: Must be at least 16 years old) ))
Citizenship/Residency:
- Must be an American citizen.
- Must have resided in San Andreas for at least 12 months.
Multiple Employment Rules:
- Cannot be employed with LSPD or LSSD at the time of hiring.
- Can hold a part-time position in other departments.
Criminal History:
- Applicants with previous misdemeanors and felonies may apply if they hold a firearm license (A, B, or C).
Additional Requirements:
â Must have a valid Driverâs License and Truckerâs License.
â Experience with building (((and the ECRP building system))).
â Must pass an extensive background check (criminal record, employment history, traffic violations, past affiliations).
â You must write the application yourself.

- If recently unbanned, you must wait 2 weeks before applying. (If your ban was voided, you can apply immediately.)

Kourtney Replied:
Like only if you repeat it to yourself in the mirror every morning for an hour. I usually spend the first hour of my day staring at myself in the mirror and admiring myself so maybe it can help you as well.
Second Question this Month:
How do I stop lightgassing myself?
Kourtney Replied:
Like just be sure to stick to your own morals and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. It is important to have your own beliefs and follow them.
The Final Question this Month:
If I say âit is what it isâ enough times, will my problems just disappear?
Kourtney Replied:
Like find enjoyment out of small things rather than looking at the bigger picture. That way you can live, laugh and love every moment.
