Chief Elena Flores wrote: As we head out of March and into April, we have now officially entered the spring season, with a return of warmer weather and longer days. I want to preface that, irrespective of the date of this publication, this message will not be catered to April Fools' Day. That said, I do wish everyone a happy April Fools' Day filled with laughter and unexpected surprises.

March was a successful operational month for the Los Santos Police Department, as can be noted by a brief look over our newsroom filled with our published articles and releases.

Investigators of the Police Department have taken significant strides to decreasing and tackling (organized) crime of all sorts, with the dismantling of an illegal chop shop operation at the Los Santos International Airport, resulting in the arrest of multiple suspects and the seizure of an extensive amount of heavy equipment and tools, and stripped vehicle parts.

The Gang and Narcotics Division further executed a search warrant on a gang-affiliated warehouse, wherein they then found an abundance of contraband, including but not limited to narcotics, drug paraphernalia, armored vests, and heavy weaponry. An estimate of the seizures made in connection with this search warrant, at street value, has been set at $692,345.

Then, investigators of the Major Crimes Division conducted an extensive investigation, which resulted in the execution of a search warrant on an apartment located in the Rockford Hills area, where they then recovered a significant number of weapons, narcotics, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia. The estimated street value of this raid has been set at upwards of $5 million, which marks the largest seizure operation of the Los Santos Police Department during 2025, so far.

Throughout the month, we have also begun sharing insight into divisions of the Los Santos Police Department through featured division releases, which cover the core duties of a division and include brief interviews with the assigned commanding officers. This month, the featured division was the Metropolitan Division.

Moreover, to recognize the efforts of two outstanding employees of the Los Santos Police Department and their heroic and brave actions, the Department bestowed the Police Life Saving Medal on two employees, those being then-Detective Zero Hunter and Public Relations Specialist Ally Jean, who through their actions saved the life of a sheriff's deputy in a dire situation.

While the month of March has been filled with many positives and ups, there have also been the downs, one of which occurred only yesterday, with Detective Mikael Cowell, a tenured veteran of the Los Santos Police Department currently assigned to the Gang and Narcotics Division, putting in his papers for resignation. Detective Cowell has a long history with the Los Santos Police Department, having previously served as a Lieutenant and as the Commanding Officer, Air Support Division. We thank Detective Cowell for his service and dedication and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

On that note, I also wish to use this opportunity to extend my heartfelt wishes to former-Governor Lewis Langley, who has resigned from his position at the end of March, and wish him the best of luck with what comes next in his life, a life that he, for a long time now, has dedicated to the State of San Andreas and its people.

Then, I wish to extend my congratulations to Governor Emily Whitehorse, the newly appointed Governor of the State of San Andreas. I could not think of a more suitable candidate for this role than Emily, an individual who had dedicated her life to grand reform within the State, such as spearheading the Law Review Committee, making significant contributions to the Constitution, and later, managing the day-to-day operations under Governor Langley. I wish you the best of luck with your new position.

On a final note, I wish to express once more my gratitude for the unwavering dedication and commitment of our officers, the deputies of the Sheriff's Department, all government workers, and every citizen who has contributed to making the City of Los Santos a better, safer place.

The Los Santos Police Department is committed to ensuring and protecting the safety and security of citizens and tourists of Los Santos to the highest standards of law enforcement.
