- 3.1) Why are you seeking employment with the San Andreas Judicial Branch? (200 word minimum)
- Ever since I was 14, I’ve dreamed of becoming a lawyer. That dream began after my father passed away and I saw how the justice system failed my family. My mother was left alone to deal with everything, and it felt like no one in the system cared enough to help. The pain of losing my father was tough enough, but seeing my mother struggle without support from the system made things worse.
However, in the midst of this darkness, there was one lawyer who changed everything for us. While the system seemed cold and indifferent, this lawyer stepped in and actually listened to our story. He fought for us when we felt completely hopeless, and I’ll never forget how much of a difference he made in our lives. He gave us hope when we needed it most and showed me what real justice could look like.
That experience inspired me to follow this path. I want to be the kind of lawyer who fights for people who are struggling, people who feel like the system has forgotten them. I want to help those who need it the most, just like the lawyer who helped my family.
The San Andreas Judicial Branch offers an incredible opportunity for me to learn, grow, and get closer to my goal. Being able to work here would allow me to gain valuable experience in the legal world and be part of a team that values justice and community support. I’m passionate about making a difference, and I know that starting here would be the first step in that journey.
I believe in the power of law to change lives, and that’s what I want to dedicate myself to—helping people, giving them a voice, and ensuring that no one has to feel forgotten or overlooked by the justice system. The chance to work with the San Andreas Judicial Branch means I could be part of something bigger than myself, something that truly matters. This is my chance to take that first step and make my dream a reality.
- I’m 22 years old, and my journey toward law and public policy has been shaped by a combination of global education and hands-on experience. After completing my bachelor’s degree in Government at Dartmouth College, I pursued a Master’s in Policy at Harvard University. There, I deepened my understanding of how policy shapes society and learned to analyze complex issues from a variety of perspectives. This experience ignited my passion for the intersection of law, policy, and public service.
From there, I moved to Canada to earn a research-focused master’s in Public Relations at the University of Toronto, where I further developed my skills in communication, strategic thinking, and understanding the dynamics of public perception. These studies gave me invaluable insights into how public opinion and legal frameworks interact, especially in today’s fast-paced, media-driven world.
Most recently, I spent time in the UK, immersing myself in different legal and political environments. This international experience broadened my worldview and gave me a unique perspective on how diverse legal systems approach similar challenges.
What sets me apart from other candidates is my diverse academic background, my global experience, and my passion for using law and policy to create meaningful change. I bring a strong mix of research, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills, and I’m eager to apply these to a role with the San Andreas Judicial Branch. I am dedicated to learning, growing, and making a positive impact wherever I go.
- I would describe myself as "determined." This word truly captures who I am and how I approach life. When I was initially rejected from Dartmouth, instead of accepting defeat, I decided to take a gap year to refocus and strengthen my application. My persistence paid off when I was accepted the second time, which taught me the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of setbacks.
This determination has been a driving force throughout my academic journey. Whether it was pursuing a master’s degree at Harvard, moving to Canada for further studies, or adapting to new environments, I’ve always pushed forward with a strong belief in my goals. I don’t shy away from challenges; I see them as opportunities for growth.
For me, being determined means never giving up, always learning from mistakes, and striving for success, no matter the obstacles. It’s the mindset I bring to everything I do.
