- Yesterday evening, a security breach occurred in our Government Security Bureau offices. An explosive device was detonated, causing significant structural damage and leading to a complete overhaul of the office space. The attack appeared to have targeted key areas within the facility, including the armoury and the office of a senior official.
Emergency response teams, including fire and law enforcement personnel, arrived at the scene. However, due to the activation of the building’s fire suppression system, flooding occurred within the premises, further complicating response efforts. Despite limited surveillance footage, preliminary investigations suggest that this attack was orchestrated by an organised group.
The government strongly condemns this act of violence and is treating this as a terrorist attack. A full-scale investigation is currently underway, prioritising efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible. Public safety remains our highest priority, and additional security measures are being implemented.
Additionally, as a result of the extensive damage, the road adjacent to city hall will be temporarily closed to facilitate reconstruction efforts. Contractors estimate the repairs will take over one week to complete. We urge commuters to plan alternative routes and appreciate the public’s patience as this work is carried out.
The government remains committed to maintaining security, ensuring justice, and protecting the well-being of all citizens.
