Chief's Message - January 2025

Los Santos: As the Los Santos Police Department concludes the month of December, Chief Elena Flores extends a message of reflection and addresses the accomplishments, challenges, and future endeavors of the Department.

Chief Elena Flores wrote: December has passed us by, waving goodbye to the holiday season and all the festivities, along with the snow melting. With the holiday season behind us, life is returning to the status quo for most, with a return back to work or studies.
The Chief's message for January has been released a day later, to allow the Year in Review to get its deserved attention, as it is the annual release published by the Los Santos Police Department, recapping and highlighting significant events, changes, and general happenings of and within the Police Department for the public. Our Media Relations Division was hard at work through the month of December, despite the festivities and holidays, and managed to make the release come together and have it published on time, something for which I could not thank them enough.
This shall be brief, as the most notable changes were mentioned in the Year in Review. December, just like November, has been a month in which the Department has seen a step up in recruitment efforts, with an adequately sized Los Santos Police Academy being hosted at the start of the month.
An informal annual event, known in the Department as "the Lincolns", a play on a Department unit designation, was hosted by Assistant Chief Dezzy Bala, as an informal and more laid-back counterpart to our formal award ceremony which was hosted in November. This event offered employees of the Department, and invitees, an opportunity to unwind and share an evening of fun with their colleagues, with fun and Department-related and themed awards being thought of by Assistant Chief Bala, and nominees put forward and voted on by Department personnel. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to Assistant Chief Bala, as the Lincolns event is not only an annual event but also a staple and tradition of the holidays for the Los Santos Police Department.
I hope that everyone has had a happy holiday season and that they have been able to spend it with their friends and loved ones, and wish them and their friends and family joy, peace, and prosperity in this new year.
On a final note, I wish to use this opportunity to express once more my gratitude for the unwavering dedication and commitment of not only our officers, but also the deputies of the Sheriff's Department, all government workers, and every citizen who has contributed to making the City of Los Santos a better, safer place.
