Los Santos: On November 30th, 2024, the Los Santos Police Department hosted its fifth award ceremony, the fourth ceremony hosted as an annual large-scale event. Spearheaded and organized by Detective Tim Havlicek of the Media Relations Division, the ceremony occurred with the assistance of Community Affairs Officers, Media Relations Officers, Police Supervisors, and Command Staff.
We extend our gratitude to the Downtown Cab Company for providing the Department with their services in transporting officers from the Mission Row Station to the event location and Refresh Catering for the catering services provided to all attendees. Both companies have shown considerable reliability over the last years, and have become a staple in achieving the success of this ceremonial event for officers.
This release shall serve as a recap of the award ceremony of 2024, highlighting all issued awards. Awards covered in this press release will not be organized in any particular order.

"Awarded to those who have served as a member of the Major Crimes Division's Vice Unit for a total of 6 months, during which the Officer has shown a consistent effort made to the unit."

"Given to those who show extreme prowess and skill with a firearm, most notably a long arm at distance in a situation and typically in a tactical situation."

MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD
"The Meritorious Service Medal is bestowed upon Officers who have performed noteworthy service in any capacity with the Los Santos Police Department. Qualifying service for the award of the medal can be for distinctive meritorious achievement and service, acts of courage involving no voluntary risk of life, or sustained meritorious performance of duty."

COMMAND DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
"The Los Santos Police Command Distinguished Service Medal is bestowed upon Command Officers for continual determination and success after serving as a Command Officer for a prolonged period of time."

MEDIA RELATIONS COMMENDATION AWARD
"Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with the Media Relations Division, helping organize events and consistently assisting with any of the roles required within the division."

EXEMPLARY INSTRUCTOR COMMENDATION AWARD
"Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with either the Academy or Training Division, consistently ensuring the smooth transition of all the officers involved."

MEDAL OF VALOR
"The Los Santos Police Department's Medal of Valor is the highest law enforcement medal awarded to officers by the Los Santos Police Department. The Medal of Valor is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for individual acts of extraordinary bravery or heroism performed in the line of duty at extreme and life-threatening personal risk."

"The Police Life Saving Medal is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for taking action in order to rescue or attempt the rescue of either a fellow officer or any person from imminent danger."

"The Police Star is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for performing with exceptional judgment and/or utilizing skillful tactics in order to defuse dangerous and stressful situations."

MERITORIOUS LEADERSHIP MEDAL
"The Meritorious Leadership Medal is bestowed upon Officers who have performed noteworthy service in any capacity with the Los Santos Police Department in the leadership of other Los Santos Police Officers. Meritorious service or achievement in either dangerous & stressful field situations or administrative non-field situations based on sustained performance or specific achievement of a superlative nature."

In addition to the aforementioned awards, the Los Santos Police Department also announced the advancement of several officers among their ranks, seeing the promotion of Officer Jamie Lockwood to Sergeant, Sergeant Charles Williams to Sergeant II, Detective Tim Havlicek to Detective II, the advancement of Lieutenant Dale Ashcroft to Lieutenant II, and finally, the advancement of Captains Samuel Martin and Bill Breacher, both of whom were upgraded to Captain II.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all officers who received an award or advancement during the ceremony and thank them for their continued service and dedication to not only the Los Santos Police Department but the City of Los Santos.
