Los Santos: After each month, supervisory personnel of the Los Santos Police Department conduct a thorough review of officer statistics within their divisions and nominate those who have shown significant dedication to the Department based on statistics such as duty hours, individual performances within divisions, administrative efforts, and above all, their embodiment of the values that the Department holds dear.
The title of "Officer of the Month" is distinguished and is awarded to officers who have demonstrated unwavering dedication, outstanding performance, and unrivaled professionalism in the line of duty, and who through their steadfast commitment to the communities and the pursuit of justice, embody the very essence of the core values of the Department, where excellence is not just another word, but the backbone on which our law enforcement philosophy is built.
This month, it is with great honor that we shine a light on, commend, and salute Detective I George Vern for his efforts, dedication, and achievements. Detective Vern has been voted Officer of the Month for September 2024.

Detective Vern was nominated by Captain I Jonathan Willowick, who serves as his commanding officer within the Major Crimes Division. Captain Willowick had the following to say in the nomination for Detective Vern.
Detective Vern is a law enforcement veteran through his multiple stints with the Los Santos Police Department, with the initial start of his career in law enforcement in the City of Los Santos in 2018, with multiple reinstatements in the following years.
On the 3rd of April, 2024, Detective Vern was reinstated to the Los Santos Police Department with a re-enrollment in the field training program, a program which is designed to train and prepare both rookie officers and officers returning to law enforcement after notable time away from the field. He passed the program and was promoted to Police Officer I on the 2nd of May. Detective Vern was then assigned to the Vinewood Patrol Division as a patrol officer, where he would stay until an internal restructure of the operations bureau saw him assume the assignment of field training officer in the Rockford Hills Patrol Division.
Shortly thereafter, Detective Vern was accepted into the Detective Training Program and was reassigned to the Major Crimes Division as a Detective Trainee. Upon enrollment in the training program, he would spend the next months of his career working with and being trained by established investigators within the Detective Bureau. Detective Vern passed the training program and was promoted to Detective I on the 2nd of October. He is currently assigned to the Major Crimes Division as a Robbery-Homicide Detective and has also explored other opportunities within the Department, such as the Traffic Enforcement Division.
The Department finds it important to acknowledge the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of our officers amidst the daily challenges and responsibilities.
