Chief's Message - October 2024

Los Santos: As the Los Santos Police Department concludes the month of September, Chief Elena Flores extends a message of reflection and addresses the accomplishments, challenges, and future endeavors of the Department.

Chief Elena Flores wrote: As September breezes by, we have officially passed the autumn equinox and marked the official start of fall, with the temperatures lowering in comparison to the start of the month.
The Los Santos Police Department has maintained the status quo throughout the month of September, with the most notable event being the job fair hosted by the Media Relations Division, spearheaded by Assistant Commanding Officer, Detective II Tim Havlicek. The job fair drew a large attendance of civilians and government employees alike to the large parking lot on Tackle Street, Puerto Del Sol.
This event allowed the Department to showcase its equipment, fleet, various divisions, and talent through the officers present, with exercises such as an aerial showcase by the Air Support Division and a controlled detonation by the bomb squad of the Metropolitan Division. Interested civilians and community members were presented the opportunity to gain a closer look at what the Department does, and what is used to achieve its goals.
Los Santos Police Department Command Staff has seen notable adjustments also during the month of September, with the departure of Captain Alex Schill, who put in his papers for retirement at the end of the month. Captain Schill was assigned as the Commanding Officer, Internal Affairs Division, and in his time in this position was responsible for managing, overseeing, and concluding all internal administrative and criminal investigations. Captain Schill strived to maintain accountability among officers across the board and did so unabashedly. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors and hope he enjoys retirement with his friends and loved ones.
On a final note, I wish to use this opportunity to express once more my gratitude for the unwavering dedication and commitment of not only our officers, but also the deputies of the Sheriff's Department, all government workers, and every citizen who has contributed to making the City of Los Santos a better, safer place.
