Chief's Message - August 2024
Los Santos: As the Los Santos Police Department concludes the month of July, Chief Elena Flores extends a message of reflection and addresses the accomplishments, challenges, and future endeavors of the Department.
Chief Elena Flores wrote: As the month of July concludes and passes by, we have moved past the first month of the summer, a month that has yielded many results for the Los Santos Police Department.
The Community Affairs Section, overseen by Captain Jessica Nash as its Officer-in-Charge, has hosted another collaborative event, this time with and for Los Santos Customs. This event featured music, a slideshow of the best moments of Los Santos Customs, catering provided by the garage, a vehicle raffle, and a showcase of the higher-end vehicles of the Department fleet to the general public.
Command Staff has seen additions during the month of July, through the promotions of Lieutenants Jonathan Willowick and Samuel Martin to the rank of Captain. We have further welcomed back former Captain Jason Steel and former Deputy Chief Jay Bacon, both of whom have returned to serve in the capacity of Lieutenant with supervisory staff of the Department.
The Gang and Narcotics Division has made significant strides in tackling gang-related crime and removing contraband in the form of weapons and narcotics from the streets, with operations during July producing all-time high seizure values and sizes, further pushing the envelope on the disruption and suppression of street gangs and the means that support their lifestyle within the State.
Investigators of the Major Crimes Division have closed several cases with a singular arrest, following the apprehension of Eden Flower, who confessed to fifteen murders, which they are hopeful will finally bring closure to the victims of her violent crimes and their loved ones.
On a final note, I wish to use this opportunity to express once more my gratitude for the unwavering dedication and commitment of not only our officers, but also the deputies of the Sheriff's Department, all government workers, and every citizen who has contributed to making the City of Los Santos a better, safer place.
