Chief's Message - July 2024

Los Santos: As the Los Santos Police Department concludes the month of June, Chief Elena Flores extends a message of reflection and addresses the accomplishments, challenges, and future endeavors of the Department.

Chief Elena Flores wrote: The month of June has passed us by, and with that, we are also seeing Pride Month and Men's Mental Health Month wrapping up, both of which are important events recognized by society and supported by the Department in their own right. Not only has June been an important month due to these events and recognitions, but it has also marked the official beginning of summer.
Despite its challenges, June has been a productive and satisfactory month for the Los Santos Police Department, as it saw the return of the Community Affairs Section under the Media Relations Division, spearheaded by Captain III Jessica Nash. This section is tasked with ensuring public and internal events make a return, to involve the communities of the City in activities with the Department.
The first, and immediately successful, example is the collaborative event with the Downtown Cab Company, which saw the Department providing decommissioned police cruisers to be driven by taxi drivers, who were accompanied by senior officers when answering calls and transporting customers, with their fares covered and free of charge.
Furthermore, the Gang and Narcotics Division of the Los Santos Police Department has taken the next step in their efforts to reduce gun possession, and firearms- and gang-related crimes, and have launched a bounty program that offers financial rewards for any person that provides credible information resulting in the successful seizure of contraband.
Once more, acts of violence, crime, and hostility towards law enforcement across the State have not seen a notable decrease. The Department is steadfast in its ever-lasting commitment and dedication to ensuring officers are provided with the right and necessary tools and equipment to carry out their duties effectively and to continue providing service to the citizens of the City. The LSPD continues to remain committed to actively measuring statistics, planning, and strategizing to take strides in reducing crime further so that the safety of both peace officers and the public can be enhanced and ensured.
While perhaps unorthodox, I find this a great opportunity to congratulate Captain Amelia Clark of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department on her recent promotion. Captain Clark is a prominent leadership figure and role model for many within the Sheriff's Department and is nothing but committed to providing a quality service to her Department and the people it serves.
On a final note, I wish to use this opportunity to express once more my gratitude for the unwavering dedication and commitment of not only our officers, but also the deputies of the Sheriff's Department, all government workers, and every citizen who has contributed to making the City of Los Santos a better, safer place.
