Los Santos: After each month, supervisory personnel of the Los Santos Police Department conduct a thorough review of officer statistics within their divisions and nominate those who have shown significant dedication to the Department based on statistics such as duty hours, individual performances within divisions, administrative efforts, and above all, their embodiment of the values that the Department holds dear.
The title of "Officer of the Month" is distinguished and is awarded to officers who have demonstrated unwavering dedication, outstanding performance, and unrivaled professionalism in the line of duty, and who through their steadfast commitment to the communities and the pursuit of justice, embody the very essence of the core values of the Department, where excellence is not just another word, but the backbone on which our law enforcement philosophy is built.
This month, it is with great honor that we shine a light on, commend, and salute Detective I Zoey Deul for her exceptional efforts, dedication, and achievements, recognizing not only the invaluable contributions she made to her respective divisions and the Department, but to the wider city. Detective Deul has been voted Officer of the Month for May 2024.
Detective Deul was nominated by Lieutenant II Johnathan Willowick, who served as her commanding officer throughout her tenure within the Major Crimes Division. In the nomination for Detective Deul, Lieutenant Willowick had the following to say.
Detective Deul, contrary to her current assignment, is a long-standing veteran of the Los Santos Police Department who has made a recent return to service. She initially applied to the Department on the 24th of April 2019 and later graduated from the Los Santos Police Academy on May 19th, 2019. Detective Deul then enrolled in the Field Training Program, graduating from the program a little over two weeks later on the 4th of June 2019, being promoted to Police Officer I with an assignment to standard patrol. She continued her service in operations and was advanced to Police Officer II on July 4th, 2019. She furthered her career with the Department and was accepted as a training officer, which made her responsible for the training of recruit officers. As a training officer, Deul advanced to Police Officer III on August 8th, 2019.
Deul had multiple opportunities presented to her as a senior officer in the Department, after which she chose to pursue a career with an outlook on supervisory duties and rank with her enrollment in the supervisor training program, seeing her reassignment to Senior Lead Officer, which today is referred to as Police Officer III+1, and subsequently Sergeant I on September 8th and October 8th of 2019 respectively. She continued her career, eventually reaching the rank of Captain II, Commanding Officer, Air Support Division, before retiring in 2021.
Detective Deul returned to the Department on the 2nd of March 2024, with an enrollment in an expedited form of the training program. She completed the program and was promoted to the rank of Police Officer III on the 5th of March, 2024. Deul's passion became clear, and she quickly opted to apply to the Detective Bureau, enrolling in the detective training program on the 9th of April. On the 30th of April, she was promoted to Detective I as a Robbery-Homicide Detective.
Today, Deul serves as a detective with the Gang and Narcotics Division and a Field Training Program Coordinator with the Field Training Division. Detective Deul is an example of the Department providing a wide range of career opportunities to those who are committed and interested.

Lieutenant II Johnathan Willowick, Commanding Officer, Major Crimes Division wrote: Detective Deul has continued putting in great effort throughout the month of May, with 209 hours on shift while contributing 70 pieces of paperwork on the LSPD website. She has been a great help on many different scenes and through many Detective Bureau case files.
