Los Santos: Last Friday April 4, the Los Santos Police Department deployed a rapid response to an ongoing gun battle near the Vespucci Police Station, that resulted in the capture of four suspects and the confiscation of $170,000 worth of unlawful items.
Shots fired were first reported by an LSPD Detective stationed near a parking lot in neighboring Del Perro, causing multiple LSPD units to respond to the scene. The responding officers spotted two vehicles at the location of the scene. The driver of one of the vehicles, a Remus, made a failed attempt to evade before the Detective stopped him, and two Officers captured both suspects in the other vehicle, an FR36.
During the investigation, police officers found illegal weapons in a bag, possessed by the driver, worth approximately $40,000, as well as body armor possessed by the passenger. Additional searches of the FR36 turned up a suspected weapon from the shootout alongside approximately $100,000 worth of body armor.
Preliminary evidence indicates a failed weapons transaction resulted in a violent confrontation between rival gangs, although investigators have not established the full sequence of events. LSPD Detectives continue their investigation to understand all facts surrounding this incident.
Law enforcement took four suspects into custody while imposing combined jail sentences of 8.5 years and $35,000 in fines for firearm and public endangerment offenses.
