- Emily Whitehorse has served as the Chief of Staff at the San Andreas State Government for a considerable period, during which her responsibilities have significantly expanded beyond the original intended scope of the position. It has become evident that the position of Chief of Staff no longer covers the significance of her contributions to the State Government. The decision has been made to redefine the scope of the Chief of Staff position and establish a new role that more accurately represents her efforts and impact, whilst also returning the Chief of Staff position to be what it was intended for.
In recognition of Ms. Whitehorse's exemplary service, we have created the position of Lieutenant Governor, in which she will be positioned.
The Lieutenant Governor is a high-command role within the State Government, tasked with advising and supporting the governors in policy development and executive decision-making. The Lieutenant Governor also serves as a representative of the governors in designated matters or meetings, ensuring continuity and coherence in governance.
In the absence of any governors, the Lieutenant Governor can assume the role of acting governor, wielding full executive authority and responsibility until the governors are available. Additionally, during emergencies or critical situations, the Lieutenant Governor is empowered to make pivotal decisions and represent the executive branch as circumstances require. At governor discretion, the Lieutenant Governor may oversee specific departments or agencies, particularly those integral to the state's governance priorities.
