Los Santos Police Department
Los Santos, San Andreas

Los Santos: The first winter snow has fallen, and more is forecast for this winter season. The LSPD would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the extra precaution needed when driving in snowy conditions, and to prepare your vehicle for the winter season. Snow, often accompanied by fog, can cause reduced traction and visibility issues that can be dangerous. With temperatures around the freezing point, freezing rain can cause black ice. Additionally, snow can cover lane markings, making it difficult to differentiate the correct lane of travel.
Traffic accidents rise every year during the winter season, and we advise everyone to be mindful of these challenges. Reduced visibility and traction require slower speeds and increased following distances. Speed limits and similar traffic laws are based on ideal conditions, and in inclement weather you should add reasonable safety margins to ensure everyone's safety, yourself included.
Snow is a great addition to the holiday spirit during the festive season, but for the officers of the Los Santos Police Department, it also means a new challenge in ensuring that roads remain operable, that traffic runs smoothly and safely, and that everyone understands their responsibility in these tough road conditions. This is especially true for Traffic Officers, who make road safety their primary focus on duty.
