Chief's Thanksgiving Message 2024
Los Santos: Throughout various dates in October and November, Thanksgiving is an annually celebrated national holiday in the United States and Canada, also celebrated unofficially in many other countries. As this day is based on the act of giving thanks, a grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favors, Chief Elena Flores extends a message of appreciation.
Chief Elena Flores wrote: As we approach this wonderful season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible work that many of you demonstrate each and every day, irrespective of your place of work, or where you may choose to dedicate your time. This time of year offers us an opportunity to pause, reflect, celebrate, and recognize the many blessings in our own lives.
For me, one of the greatest blessings this year is having the privilege to continue working alongside such dedicated, compassionate, and courageous individuals. I am deeply grateful for all who continue to enrich the lives of others through their actions and unwavering commitment to serving our community, even as we face challenges of misperceptions in policing and violence against not only officers but any peace officers, including but not limited to deputies, correctional officers, paramedics, and firefighters, they have not wavered.
Please know that your dedication to making a difference across this City continues to inspire and uplift those around you. Every day, you face adversity with professionalism, resilience, and a tireless commitment to improving the lives of others. Your efforts shine bright through the countless positive interactions you have with members of our communities, and your work is what not only this Department's but also this City's government organizations, agencies, and efforts have always been known for.
I cannot thank you enough for the role you play in making Los Santos a safer place for all.
Traditionally, Thanksgiving is a time when many of us gather with family and loved ones to share meals, reminisce about the good times, and create new memories. To those of you who are able to enjoy this holiday with your families, I hope you are surrounded by love, joy, and great food. For those of you who will be working this Thanksgiving holiday protecting or contributing to our community and society, making the sacrifice to be away from your own families, I want to offer my heartfelt appreciation. May you find comfort in the camaraderie of your work family, not limited to but including the LSPD, by staying safe, vigilant, and looking out for one another.
Please know that your presence, hard work, and sacrifice are paramount in maintaining the safety and security of all who live, work, and visit Los Santos.
