[PRESS RELEASE #82] Opening of the Docks Race Track

• The San Andreas State Government is happy to announce the completion of the construction of the Docks Race Track, located south of Los Santos, at the Terminal Docks.
  
  
  
  In an effort to promote safer streets, the SASG has put budget in place to construct a remotely located Race Track at the Los Santos Terminal Docks that would allow car, drifting and racing enthusiasts to take their vehicles to the track without endangering the general public by illegally participating in Street Competition on the streets of San Andreas.
  

  

  As a government it is important to promote safer alternatives to what can be a dangerous undertaking if not done under controlled circumstances. Prior to the introduction of the Docks Race Track, racing enthusiasts had no choice but to conduct their hobbies on the public roads, essentially forcing them into criminality.
  
  Facilitating these racing events to be hosted on a closed, purpose-built racing track allows for these events to take place under much safer conditions than any public street would allow, not to mention the dangers illegal street competitions pose to the general public.
  By opening up this track to the public, we hope to further de-marginalize racing enthusiasts by offering a legal alternative to street racing.
  
  

  
  We’re excited to see a new track pop up, showing just how much the car scene in our city is growing. It’s awesome to see the community getting some real support, and we love it. Over the past few days, we’ve been drifting on the new track. Even though it was built for racing, it’s turned out to be a pretty sweet spot for drifting, with some corners that really let you get some great angles.

  The track will be open to the public and free to use to the general public. Events can be organised on the track freely, however, do still require any pertinent licenses to be obtained by the organisation responsible for the event.
  Use of the track is always at own risk and event organisers are strongly encouraged to request attendance of Medical Personnel and take the necessary safety precautions to ensure low-risk events.
