Los Santos: On June 1st, the Los Santos Police Department received reports of an ongoing meeting between criminal organizations. Investigators of the Gang and Narcotics Division initiated surveillance of the location.
Surveillance by investigators of the Gang and Narcotics Division found individuals brandishing Class 2 firearms while standing around a barge set up as a fighting ring, after which the decision was made to alert officers of the Metropolitan Division and the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department due to the number of potential suspects and the caliber of weaponry being brandished.
Officers of the Los Santos Police Department and deputies of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department began preparation for a joint operation, after which they cautiously approached the location at the Merryweather docks, located on Abattoir Avenue, Elysian Island. Officers and deputies were confronted by a blockade of vehicles established by suspects, after which fire was opened upon the approaching peace officers with Class 1 and Class 2 firearms by barricaded suspects.
Tactical elements of the Department coordinated and initiated a push on multiple fronts, with elements being spread across the rear entry point and side entrance of the structure, and patrol officers maintaining and advancing the perimeter at the front of the structure, effectively and successfully restricting the suspects to a confined area with their advance.
A large firefight then took place between law enforcement and the gang-affiliated suspects, resulting in multiple suspect casualties. Several law enforcement officers sustained injuries and were in critical condition, but are all expected to make a full recovery.
Despite the best efforts of present law enforcement, the firefight resulted in the tragic deaths of multiple suspects. Suspects who were provided with first aid were later booked on charges and transported to the Department of Corrections.
