Los Santos Police Department
Los Santos, San Andreas
Los Santos: On the 12th of May 2024, the Downtown Drift Club hosted a car show in the Del Perro Freeway tunnel in Del Perro. The event was a success made possible by the Traffic Enforcement Division, which managed the closure of all 6 lanes of the freeway in both directions. Traffic Officers managed road traffic around the event and provided security for the event, ensuring the safety of everyone involved. This was made possible because the Downtown Drift Club followed the proper procedure for getting the event approved with the Los Santos Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Division.
The LSPD's Traffic Enforcement Division looks forward to future events hosted by citizens of this state. If you would like to find out more information on requesting Road Closure Permits then please find out more information by clicking here.

Downtown Drift Club Car Show on Del Perro Fwy
Los Santos: On the 12th of May 2024, the Downtown Drift Club hosted a car show in the Del Perro Freeway tunnel in Del Perro. The event was a success made possible by the Traffic Enforcement Division, which managed the closure of all 6 lanes of the freeway in both directions. Traffic Officers managed road traffic around the event and provided security for the event, ensuring the safety of everyone involved. This was made possible because the Downtown Drift Club followed the proper procedure for getting the event approved with the Los Santos Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Division.
The operation was lead by Police Officer III Leo Larson, who is a Traffic Coordinator in the Traffic Enforcement Division.Kim Taek, Founder of Downtown Drift Club wrote: I was pleasantly surprised by the LSPD’s approval to close down the highway tunnel for our event, as I was partially prepared to hold it at our headquarters. Closing the entire highway for over an hour was a significant request, and I am extremely pleased that it was granted. This decision reflects the strong trust and collaborative relationship that has developed between the LSPD and Drift Club over the past year through numerous events.
For this particular event, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Leo Larson for his exceptional efforts in organizing the closure. Initially, we were prepared to manage with just one side of the tunnel, but thanks to his coordination, we were granted access to both sides of the highway. We deeply appreciate the LSPD’s support and assistance with all our events.
Officer Leo Larson wrote: The Downtown Drift Club Car Show was approved for their event and road closure was permitted for Del Perro Freeway Tunnel. The individual hosting the event Kim Taek, was contacted 30 minutes prior to the event start time to clarify requests and confirm details. Traffic Enforcement Officers arrived to the location and set up scene management. The entirety of Del Perro Freeway was closed off with blockades and arrows, preventing any possible [high speed accidents], while arrows and police cruisers guided those not participating in the event away. The east road closure pointed traffic to the exit ramp towards North Rockford Dr. The west road closure pointed traffic towards Bay City Ave. Those looking to enter through the road closure and participate in the event were granted passage. Traffic Enforcement Officers would move their police cruiser, opening an entrance point, followed by closing the gap once passed.
As time approached for the event to start, Weazel News was contacted to make a broadcast. A vast amount of individuals arrived to the event and aligned their vehicles with one another. A food truck was provided to those who were in need of something to eat or drink. There was a decent amount of traffic [from the freeway]; they were all guided to the corresponding exit ramps, and if they had questions regarding the event itself, Traffic Enforcement was there to inform them. The event ran smoothly, without interruptions or trouble. The event last 1 hour and 45 minutes. Event occupants cleared from the enclosed area of the Del Perro tunnel and when vacant, Traffic Officers cleaned up the scene management.
The LSPD's Traffic Enforcement Division looks forward to future events hosted by citizens of this state. If you would like to find out more information on requesting Road Closure Permits then please find out more information by clicking here.
