Pacific Allied Shipyard Shootout

Los Santos: In the late evening hours of May 2nd, detectives of the Gang and Narcotics Division were conducting a traffic stop outside the Pacific Allied Shipyard on Elysian Island. While the individuals in the initial traffic stop were not directly affiliated with the individuals with whom the shootout later occurred, it led detectives to investigate the warehouse.

Detectives entered the warehouse, at which point the individuals inside of the building, later identified to be affiliated with the current rendition of a criminal organization dubbed the "Irish Mob", opened fire at the detectives, resulting in the detectives returning fire and requesting immediate assistance.

Additional officers arrived on the scene, after which it was discovered that in the firefight, two detectives had been fatally shot and killed. Arriving officers engaged in a firefight with the suspects who had barricaded themselves inside a room in the industrial building with advantageous vantage points, resulting in a stand-off between law enforcement and the suspects.

Sporadic volleys of shots were exchanged between officers and the gang members inside, who refused to give up. The tactical commander on-scene authorized and deployed the use of tear gas, which was successful in drawing out a significant majority of suspects, who engaged in further firefights with law enforcement. These suspects were subsequently incapacitated by law enforcement.

The remaining suspects positioned themselves in such a manner that the points of entry for the tear gas canisters would be unable to produce results to draw them out. Officers on the scene requested mutual aid from the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department, resulting in the assistance of multiple deputies and operators.

Upon the arrival of deputies, resulting in an increase in numbers, a plan was developed to deploy a round of smoke canisters, and upon them being set off, to make a forced entry into the room to neutralize the remaining suspects. Multiple officers and deputies made forceful entry into the room, resulting in multiple casualties of both suspects and law enforcement.

The brave and heroic actions of these officers and deputies brought the incident, which unfolded over the span of thirty minutes, to a conclusion, allowing law enforcement to assess the situation accordingly, and to begin extracting injured suspects and officers. Multiple officers were airlifted to the hospital.

One suspect, identified as Brian Laurie, was extracted from the building, secured, taken into custody, and provided with treatment. Laurie was booked under the charges of Possession of a Class 2 Firearm, Possession of a Class 1 Firearm, Criminal Use of Weapon Modifications, Unlawful Assembly, Accessory to Murder of a Gov. Employee, Face Concealment (b), Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed.

Recovered from the scene were a high number of Pistol .50s, five pump shotguns, a micro SMG, two kevlar vests, a variety of melee weapons, and seven grams of marijuana. One suspect, armed with at least one pump shotgun, eluded law enforcement.

A review of the incident after the fact has found that, despite the best efforts of law enforcement on the scene, the large shootout resulted in the tragic deaths of four officers and ten suspects. Three officers and two deputies sustained further injury but were treated, transported to the hospital, and are predicted to make a full recovery.

The Los Santos Police Department remembers all peace officers and first responders who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and made the ultimate sacrifice. Their dedication to the City of Los Santos and the State of San Andreas will never be forgotten. Our hearts are with the families, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officers.
