Every certain time, Human Resources is opening doors of LSPD to the new applicants. Days ago, it was one of these days. On this promotion, the police department recruited some new cadets, who previously passed a form and a personal interview. Now they are almost starting their careers on the LSPD, and they have to complete their FTP, or Field Training Program, to get promoted to Police Officer, and pass their cadet period. They have hard weeks ahead, but with dedication and work can easy sort them out.

When cadets get in the Academy, they must swear in they will protect the civilians and serve the city at all cost. Also a short speech is giving from a High Rank authority, this time Commissioner Ramon Carter made the honor to proceed with the speech and also he took the new cadets swear ins. After these, Sergeant II Matt Trustson, with the help of the Sergeant Daniels Shelby, are the men who mainly handle their instruction; always with the help of others members of the department.

Why are you helping Basic Training Division
As a member of the Basic Training Division, I feel due to my experience and drive to make the training within the Los Santos Police Department the highest it can possibly be.
Why do you think LSPD should recruit new cadets?
I think with the growing rise of crime in Los Santos, allowing new personnel into the department and training them, making them something they never thought they could be. The Los Santos Police Department are always looking for the next best officers.
Is difficult take part of the LSPD?
Life in the LSPD is definitely stressful, there is no sugar coating it, however I personally do not think there is a more rewarding journey you can take in your life. You will learn a whole new way of life, get experiences you never thought you could, and meet all kinds of people.

Academy is mainly a preview of the job we are doing at the department, and we're basically teaching the new cadets how to do regular traffic stops and felony traffic stops, two things in the department are we doing daily. But also our instructors go across a lot of threads. Use of force continuum, crossfire and disciplinary actions are only a few the things we aware they will have to take in account on their daily job, for this we emphasize on these kind of things at the academy.

Academy stands in 3 hours of intense learning for them.

As we always are chasing vehicles, instructors learn them how to perform a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique), one of the most used techniques at pursuits. Basically is a pursuit tactic by which a pursuing car can force a fleeing car to abruptly turn sideways, causing the driver to lose control and stop. We have recorded this practical lesson.

Here you can check a video of the academy, instructing the cadets in the PIT.
