LSPD Encourages Safe Celebration of Independence Day

LOS SANTOS, SA —
As our communities prepare for their annual celebration of Independence Day, the Los Santos Police Department wishes to take this opportunity to remind and encourage the public to celebrate and enjoy their holidays responsibly.

"We would like for everyone to have a memorable holiday weekend, for all the right reasons, of course," said Chief Phillipe Sanchez. "Simple, but good and responsible choices, such as properly planning ahead, only driving when sober, being responsible with fireworks, and respecting your neighbors, can make all the difference in keeping our community safe."

Citizens are encouraged to attend fireworks displays and shows professionally hosted by organizations instead of setting off their own fireworks, as improper use of fireworks can lead to serious injuries, fires, and property damage. Such events and public displays are typically hosted at the Del Perro Pier and are a great alternative to at-home shows.

Motorists are further reminded not to drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and citizens are encouraged to plan ahead by designating a sober driver or arranging different means of transportation to and from celebrations.

San Andreas Emergency Services will remain available throughout the celebrations, and citizens should call the emergency number for situations requiring an immediate response. Citizens are encouraged to take simple precautions, remain aware and vigilant of their surroundings, to secure their personal belongings at public events, and to report any emergencies or suspicious activity.

The Department wishes to extend its gratitude to the community for its continued partnership and for doing their part in keeping our communities safe, and wishes everyone a safe, enjoyable, and memorable Independence Day.
